In 1853, the McKenzie Highway was completed to Eastern Oregon. It was called Scott's Trail. At first, it was operated as a toll road. Parts of this road are still traveled on Mill Street, Game Farm Road, High Banks Road, Thurston Road, parts of Jasper Road and the McKenzie Highway.
