Applegate, of Douglas county, died at her mother's residence, 214 [[11th Avenue (Eugene)|Eleventh avenue east]], at 5 o'clock a.m. yesterday.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Mrs. Pence was a member of the pioneer Applegate family of Douglas county and was well known in [[Eugene]], where she frequently visited her relatives and lived here when a girl. Besides&lt;br /&gt;
her mother, Mrs. J. M. Shelley, she leaves her husband, A. S. Pence, her son, Richard Pence, three sisters, Mrs. Mercy Holland, Mrs. Lulu Hartley and Miss Irene Applegate, and three brothers,&lt;br /&gt;
Grant Applegate, Fred Applegate, and Albert Applegate.&lt;br /&gt;
