The National University of Singapore is strategically located in the growing cluster of scientific and social scientific research institutions in the city-state of Singapore. The Department of Sociology offers Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees in Social Sciences and contributes to interdisciplinary programs at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The Department stands among the top sociology departments in Asia. The Department attracts most of its graduate students from Asia and Australia and specializes in sociological and anthropological research on Asian societies. It comprises of over thirty faculty members in diverse fields such as socio-cultural anthropology, social demography, comparative-historical sociology and cultural studies. The Department is presently inviting international applications for:


TWO YEAR VISITING FELLOW (JANUARY 2010-DECEMBER 2011), OPEN RANK


The successful candidate must have a PhD from an internationally acclaimed institution; specialization in sociology of youth, popular culture and consumerism, a track record in research and publication, preferably with strong interest in Asian societies; excellent communication skills and dedication to academic teaching excellence and collegiality.
