-- OBJECTIVES: The program focuses on a series of professional visits and

appointments with local experts and leaders in the Fellow's field. It

In 2010, Eisenhower Fellowships will conduct an international

Women's Leadership Program. To tie the 2010 USA Fellows to this

program, preference will be given to women candidates in agriculture;

and women candidates from our Philadelphia, Research Triangle, St.

Louis and New England, recruiting areas. If selected to participate in

the Women's Leadership Program, the USA Fellow will join with women

from China, India, Indonesia, Ireland/Northern Ireland, Italy, Kenya,

Mexico, Pakistan, Peru, Turkey, and the United States.

Africa; Asia: China, China (Taiwan), India, Malaysia, Philippines,

Chile, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay; Middle East: Egypt, Jordan, Turkey,

Saudi Arabia; Oceania: Australia, New Zealand.

-- ELIGIBILITY: Eligible applicants are mid-career professionals with five ten

years of demonstrated exemplary leadership, as well as an expectation

of at least 15-20 years of higher level leadership contributions, thus

a preferred age range of 35-42. Applicants must have a demonstrated

-
impact in the individual's professional field, as evidenced by rapid

advancement and significant accomplishment within the person's
+
-
institutional and regional context. Active leadership in broader

professional/community activities, demonstrating a concern for

improving society beyond one's own basic job focus is also required.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

-- FUNDING: A Fellow's spouse is invited and encouraged to participate

(children are not permitted on this program). Expenses covered during

the Fellowship include: round trip international airfare, domestic
