S.Illus is a relatively new Bunny to the forums, but a long-time EGS reader. She thinks of herself as very young compared to the rest of the Bunnies and, for that reason, doesn't like to post much due to seeming immature. She's not too good at making wiki pages, so don't shoot her.

S.Illus is a GIRL. Yeah. Now that that's out of the way...
She's fifteen. She was added to the "How Old Is That Bunny" thread when she was fourteen, though, but it's not an auto-updating thing. Trust her, she's fifteen. She doesn't talk in third person much, but this seems to be an exception. As a new bunny to the forums, she's just kind of wading into the waters, but apparently, some of the bunnies believe she is "very liked [t]here." She draws, but she hasn't posted anything yet.
She wants to have a southern Bunny meeting, and maybe meet somewhere in Texas. Because going out-of-state is out of the question for her.

== On The Forums ==

She usually looks at the new comic thread, at least reads the first few pages. She used to do this all the time, but for some reason, one day just...quit.
The '07 Comic-Con thread brought her back to the forum because she's planning on attending the one in '08. She decided that she'd need to get to know the bunnies she'd be meeting if everything went well and she managed to make it.
She sneaks around Mayhem when she gets the time and posts some on Say Something About the Last Poster and Why Should the Last Poster Be Banned?. She'd love to join an Rp, but she's yet to find one that's open and accepting without her having to read thirty pages and catch up. She's also very lazy.
On August 13, 2007, she walked into the EGS Store Reborn. We'll see what happens.

She also reads other webcomics and is an active member of the forums of Middlecenter (which is a good comic for those who are fond of puns and stuff) under the name of Smoky_Illusion. Hm, I wonder where she got S.Illus from, then?

The '''Edge of the Abyss : City of Twilight''', (sometimes referred to as "Twilight") is an active RP in the EGS Mayhem forums.

==Premise==

In a world where humans, Seyunolus, Uryuoms, and some other species all live together, there lies a city that is a major nexus of activity. Many years ago, the Abyss, a force of pure Darkness, appeared, and slowly started consuming the world. The Abyss takes the form of a huge dark barrier that advances accross the world, consuming all it overtakes. For reasons unknown, the progress of the Abyss was halted when it reached the city. A small amount of the city was consumed, but nothing major.

Since the city lies on the edge of this pure Darkness, it has come to be called the City of Twlight, or just Twilight. Since the Abyss stopped at its edge, it has not moved at all, and nothing strange about it has happened... until now.

Things are beginning to change, and the forces of Darkness are beginning to move. Nobody knows their motives, but their methods are open and brutal.

Coinciding with the start of these events, several travellers enter Twilight, all for various reasons, all from different places. And all of them will likely be plunged into the events that will change Twilight forever...

==About the RP==

Twilight is an open RP; anyone can drop in at anytime, and leave at any time. There's only really one prerequisite (that your character is not overpowered; if they do have a lot of power, there must be limits/constraints on that power (for example, when Umbrael uses the higher stages of his power, it has some pretty dangerous ramifications for his health)), and anyone who wants to join is encouraged to do so.

There are a few important NPCs in the RP, but they will all be controlled by [[Windzarko]] (who is the [[GM]]) when necessary.

Innkeeper Barnes - the man who owns and runs the Traveller's Refuge Inn at the edge of the city. Most travellers into or out of the city will stop here at least once, and there are many rooms for those who wish to stay a while. There is even a portal there which links to other worlds (many characters entered through this portal)

Mayor Kimra - the Uryuom Mayor, very proper. Wouldn't be cuaght dead without his big black top hat. He is widely respected by the citizens of Twilight, and has effeciently run the city since he was first elected in seven years before. He has a deep concern for all of the citizens of Twilight, and those who pass through the city.

Slow Alf - an Uryuom who seems to always be in one corner of The Square, and never seems to be elsewhere. Whilst it may be difficult to get anything out of him due to his apparent slowness and his often cryptic speech, he knows almost anything that happens in Twilight, and is a valuable source of knowledge and information. (note: Alf has not yet actually appeared in the RP)

Kitsubi - a Seyunolu girl who is a blend of human, squirrel and fox. She lives in a small, abandoned building near the Abyss, and lives as a special kind of thief; she will steal something from someone for fun, but then returns it to them if she thinks the victim is a good person. Optimistic, bubbly, and often quite flirty, she loves to make friends with anyone she can. (note: Kitsubi has not yet revealed herself in the RP)

Let's Count to a Million!!! is a thread started by Captain Llama in October, 2005 with the goal of counting to one million, one post at a time. The only requirement of posts in the thread is that they include the next number in the sequence (beginning with Captain Llama's original post).

== Notable Facts ==

*In the beginning, posts were often more closely tied in to their corresponding number. In the single and double digits, puns could be employed (e.g. "I fail TWO see the point of this..."), and for relatively small (usually three digit or less) numbers, references or simple statements (e.g."125 is an awesome number because it's 5 to the third power").
**As the numbers grew larger, however, actual statements involving numbers became less and less common, to where they have almost completely disappeared.
*Currently, the standard post in the thread uses its corresponding number as a self-reference, followed by a statement. (e.g."14262 is going to have dinner")
**There are breaks in this pattern. [[Wikipedia:Palindrome|Palindromes]], for example, are routinely referenced by their numbers. Indeed, as evidenced by recent occasional verses using numbers, any creative use of a number is accepted.

The Massive Flaming Plane Crash Thread

A thread started by [[Piebunny]] in which there is a massive flaming plane crash (as if you hadn't figured it out). So far the passengers have had to deal with shrink soda, a dragon, a possessed plane, a nuclear explosion, carnivorous [[Following Plants]] and a ridiculously overpowered character. They have now managed to reach an [[The Island|island]], where they have discovered that they are not the first to arrive there...

Meanwhile, high above their heads, several spaceships ([[The Giant Spaceship Thing O' Doomness]] and [[The Hammer o' Justice]], to name two of them) have discovered each other. It is unclear what the hell they are doing in the story in the first place, but... meh.

The origin of Mayhem

Herein lies the story of the birth of Mayhem.

==The Great Crash and the Keenspot Migration==
In the beginning (or at least long enough ago to be a fair facsimile for it), there was the TWC forum. And it was good. It had multiple subforums to keep the main forum from becoming cluttered - such as a forum for games and a forum for RPs. When El Goonish Shive moved to Keenspot, the vast majority of the bunnies refused to migrate, far preferring the structure of the familiar old board. Then came The Great Crash, when the TWC forum fell to the ground and did not rise. After many days of waiting, the bunnies came to realise that the forum would not be rising again any time soon, and thus the Keenspot Migration began, where the bunnies left their homeland for the only other land friendly to their traditions - the new forum at Keenspot.

==Bedlam==
The bunnies who had already moved to Keenspot were pleased. However, this massive influx came at a cost - the bunnies were a playful people, and many sought to continue their games in their new home. Soon the forum was so clogged with games and roleplays that such threads as the Holy Reaction Threads were difficult to find amongst the bedlam. One thread stood out as a symbol of the new order - [[carrot..?]] was a thread with seemingly no purpose which grew without apparent reason. And the [[Dan Shive|Lord Shive]] announced that carrot..? must be cut down, to try to realign the forum's reason for existance back to its proper path. There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth, but it was accepted by the bunny populace - this was Shive's land, and it was his right. But upon seeing the unhappiness his decision had wrought, Shive's heart betrayed him, and though he knew that things could not last as they were, he sought an alternative.

==Mayhem's birth==
Shive knew there was little else that he could do directly. So he appealed to a higher power - the Keenspot Admins. It is not for we bunnies to know what transpired in that request, but at last Shive's petition was granted, and a new forum was born, known as EGS Mayhem. Here, finally, was a place for bunnies to play to their heart's content, safe in the knowledge that their exuberance would no longer disturb the discussions of the comic that was their wellspring. The great games and RP threads were migrated and, finally, everything was at peace - somewhat insane peace in the new Mayhem forum, perhaps, but peace nonetheless.

==Ed Bunny's Mayhem==

In [[Ed Bunny]]'s universe, Mayhem is a sprawling metropolis presided over by Mayor [[Dan|Dan Shive]]. Its Police Chief is [[Berk]]. There are three major gangs in Mayhem: [[Gal-Zabor]], led by the eccentric [[Kraggi]]; [[Felina]] led by [[Brylian_Troy|Brylian Troy]] and [[Svensylsquatostan]], led by both [[Sven]] and [[Squato]].
The ritzier end of town can be found near the corner of Steak and Kidney, on which can be found Kuching Towers, home of Brylian Troy.
<br>A massively complex sewer system runs underneath the city and connects every street corner with every other street corner, albeit in a not very straightforward manner. It is inadvisable to go down there, as the water glows green for some reason. However, many lost items somehow mysteriously turn up in the sewer.

==The Heroes of Mayhem==

Set on the same planetoid as Myth City, Mayhem is made of 5 island-continent (about the size of Australia) and a vast archipelago. Shaped like the Wiccan star (a five pointed star, with an IC taking up the middle), each island-continent (IC)(will just call include the archipelago for simplicity's sake) has an elemental theme correlating with their possition on the star (save for the middle, which has no purpose on the Wiccan star but is Aether from classical Greek element). The six are Earth, Fire, Water, Wind, Spirit, and Aether (pronounced Ether). Each is ran by an Elemental Lord. Lord Jonix the Blind is an archmage and runs the Isle of Spirit, Pardox the Plot God is an enigma and the run the Isle of Aether, Shive is a power squirrel-kin geomancer and runs the Isle of Earth, Corran Star is an old dragon and run the Isle of Fire, Commadore Berk is a sailor of great influence and runs the Isle of Water (which is really an archipelago), and Vor is a lemur spirit and runs the Isle of Wind.

Newbie pack

A pack given to a brand new bunny (usually after their ribcage recovers from the crushing weight of a mass [[glomp]]). It contains the following items at a minimum, although the giver of said pack is free to add in their own unique additions:

*A six pack of unlabelled soda
*A squirrel teddy
*A dead fish
*A cookie (generally wrapped in shiny plastic)

==Origin==
The traditions brought from the old TWC forum included giving newbies a dead fish. The reasons behind this have been lost in the mist of time, but there have been a number of theories. In the years since the [[The origin of Mayhem|Keenspot Migration]], items were added over time to the newbie pack, and today at least 5 items are given to any newbie who introduces themself in the [[newbie intro thread]].

== Unique Additions ==
As stated above, a pack giver is free to add their own special piece of equipment along with the N-Pack. Here is a compiled list of such items.

*[[Piebunny]] gives out [[Small Blue Big Red Buttons]], which are noted for having imploded the universe 4 times so far.
*[[Squato]] gives an Emu from an emu farm. This may or may not fit in the bag the rest of the pack comes with.
*[[AlmostReadytoFly]] gives out copies of the pineapple cheesecakes he received, along with a catapult.
*Back when he handed out Newbie Packs, [[TeddVerres]] always included a [[TF Gun Kamikazi Add On]].
*[[Drow Bunny]] usually hands out drow-made item sets along with the standard newbie pack.
*[[catldr24]] gives out benie babies, which he also gives for birthdays.

'''carrot..?''' is the most random thread on EGS Mayhem, and perhaps the whole of the internet. At times, there may be some sense of coherency or long-standing topics, but the thread will just as soon descend into more randomness.

A carrot..? database was started by bunny [[User:corran_star|corran_star]], but as of December 2004 it remains unmaintained.

==Origins==

The "carrot..?" thread was started by a user named gin on February 3, 2004. However, it took only two replies for the thread to go off-topic. From there, carrot..? grew exponentially more and more random.

==Influence==
*Before the birth of Mayhem, carrot..? was considered the symbol of the issues that the forum then faced. For more details, see [[The origin of Mayhem]].
*It was in this thread that the [[War!|war]] between Svensylsquatostan and Gal-Zabor erupted.

Herein lies the story of the birth of Mayhem.

==The Great Crash and the Keenspot Migration==
In the beginning (or at least long enough ago to be a fair facsimile for it), there was the TWC forum. And it was good. It had multiple subforums to keep the main forum from becoming cluttered - such as a forum for games and a forum for RPs. When El Goonish Shive moved to Keenspot, the vast majority of the bunnies refused to migrate, far preferring the structure of the familiar old board. Then came The Great Crash, when the TWC forum fell to the ground and did not rise. After many days of waiting, the bunnies came to realise that the forum would not be rising again any time soon, and thus the Keenspot Migration began, where the bunnies left their homeland for the only other land friendly to their traditions - the new forum at Keenspot.

==Bedlam==
The bunnies who had already moved to Keenspot were pleased. However, this massive influx came at a cost - the bunnies were a playful people, and many sought to continue their games in their new home. Soon the forum was so clogged with games and roleplays that such threads as the Holy Reaction Threads were difficult to find amongst the bedlam. One thread stood out as a symbol of the new order - [[carrot..?]] was a thread with seemingly no purpose which grew without apparent reason. And the Lord Shive announced that carrot..? must be cut down, to try to realign the forum's reason for existance back to its proper path. There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth, but it was accepted by the bunny populace - this was Shive's land, and it was his right. But upon seeing the unhappiness his decision had wrought, Shive's heart betrayed him, and though he knew that things could not last as they were, he sought an alternative.

==Mayhem's birth==
Shive knew there was little else that he could do directly. So he appealed to a higher power - the Keenspot Admins. It is not for we bunnies to know what transpired in that request, but at last Shive's petition was granted, and a new forum was born, known as EGS Mayhem. Here, finally, was a place for bunnies to play to their heart's content, safe in the knowledge that their exuberance would no longer disturb the discussions of the comic that was their wellspring. The great games and RP threads were migrated and, finally, everything was at peace - somewhat insane peace in the new Mayhem forum, perhaps, but peace nonetheless.
