EGSDF Marines

EGSDF Marines are the Mayhem-native portion of the Force. Due to lack of numbers and proper equipment, they did not play a large part during the Crossover Wars. However, recent developments in weapons systems place them among the best of the combined Navy's combat personnel.

Organization

The EGSDF marine corps consists of a large number of small, highly-mobile squads. Each squad is fully networked, sharing telemetry and battlefield intelligence with the rest of the force, as well as the fleet. This organization arose out of the unique requirements imposed upon the EGSDF during the crossover wars; namely, the ability to rapidly respond to fast, unpredictable attacks. The networking capability has not been thoroughly field-tested as of this writing, but it shows much promise.

Force Recon

Marine Force Recon is the special operations branch of the EGSDF Marine Corps. There are two distinct missions that Force Recon performs; deep reconnaissance "green sides', and direct action "black sides". Both mission types are typically performed while vastly outnumbered and deep behind enemy lines and, as such, Marine Force Recon are among the best-trained and most well-equipped soldiers in the entire EGSDF.

Equipment

Force Recon uses powered armor heavily. Their suits are among the most advanced available, with armor and payload approaching that of a light to medium tank. These powersuits also include a jumpjet system that greatly enhances tactical mobility. Pod loadout will vary based on mission, but suits geared for a green-sides mission will typically include a plasmatorch and assault rifle, along with a vast assortment of sensors. Black-sides loadout will typically be much heavier, including a heavy plasmatorch, autocannon, grenades, missiles, and even tactical-yield antimatter weaponry.
