Pages 851 to 855

When we last left our heros, various problems were still being resolved, but one was just brewing...

  • Lee and the Artmoogle were trying to help Emily at the Town Square, with Natalie and Eli looking on. Rivelle and Hail are nearby.
  • Ann, having finished talking with the Duke (Albert), was cooking some tea for herself in her kitchen while talking to Rose. Steve slept on the couch nearby.
  • John-Luke, Likal and Jodi were at the Clinic, where A. Rescuer had just entered.
  • Daniel and Archie were heading to Squato's Ranch.
  • Jake and Jane are still at the TF store.
  • Lomgren and Sage are still at the Bookstore.
  • Bishop, Gil, Milla and Sapphire are at the Rex. (I think)
  • Injugo, the Artmoogle plot related character, was observing all the activity from the sky.

Page 851

Town Square

  • Emily cries in her sleep.
  • Eli asks questions like a curious child to the group around Emily.
  • Art is sad he couldn't help.
  • Natalie comforts Art.
  • Art sees Eli (whom looks like a giant version of Emily still) and freaks out for a moment.
  • Lee catches Art when he stumbles back.
  • Art hides behind Lee.
  • Lee asks Eli if he/she is related to Emily.
  • Natalie thinks Eli isn't related, a reason derived from a silly list of hindsight logistics by the author.

Clinic

  • Jodi hides in the back room of the Clinic from A. Rescuer, slightly afraid of the unusual creature.
  • John-Luke sneezes again and grumbles about it.

Ann's house

  • Steve wakes up from the smell of the special tea Ann is brewing in the kitchen and approaches.
  • Ann and Rose notice Steve. Ann explains to Rose why Steve is in her house (after being accused of philandering).
  • Steve pulls a 'KITTY!!!' moment and tries to hug Rose.
  • Rose and Ann flee to the hallway.
  • Steve ends up tackling a chair instead, breaks his nose, and calls out to Rose not to flee in a strange Feline tongue.
  • Rose understands Steve and after a minor, quiet discussion with Ann, returns to the kitchen.
  • Steve, still quite delirious, asked some confused questions to Rose(one being about seeking a medical herb).
  • Rose stalls with chitchat while sizing up Steve's condition.

Squato's Ranch

  • Archie and Daniel reach Squato's Ranch.

Page 852

Ann's house

  • Albert ponders over Ann's heritage as he walks towards the Town Square.
  • Steve is shocked that Rose speaks human and deducts she's from a hidden village he heard rumors about.
  • Rose reluctantly goes along with Steve's story.
  • Steve starts to ramble, his coordination waning.
  • Rose rushes to aid Steve in case he falls and calls to Ann to get medical supplies. Ann complies.
  • Steve starts losing consciousness.
  • Rose comforts Steve, agreeing with his incoherent babblings, while giving an impromptu repair to his broken nose.
  • Steve's nose is fixed, but is bleeding, he thanks Rose.
  • Rose looks for something to stem the flow when Ann returns with medical supplies. Rose mentions showering Steve since he's so dirty. Ann, distracted by the thought, puts the cottonballs meant for Steve's nose in his mouth.
  • Art (From Roan's house) runs into Ann's front door, bamfs through, and skids down the hall comically.
  • Ann snaps out of her thought-induced stupor and goes to see who just came in.

Clinic

  • John-Luke disassembles his diagram, preparing to leave the Clinic.
  • Likal responds to A. Rescuer with a declining quack.
  • People in the Clinic get a feeling of being watched again...
  • A. Rescuer assures Likal that he will help if it's needed, and looks about for anyone he hasn't met.
  • Jodi discreetly watches A. Rescuer from the back room, worried about Likal's safety around it.
  • A. Rescuer notices Jodi and approaches. Jodi responds to A. Rescuer with passive hostility, which A. Rescuer returns.
  • Jodi continues talking to A. Rescuer in half stand-off mode and gives him a sonar treatment to see what's under the fur.

Roan's house

  • Art goes with Lee (From town Square) and finds Ann's goo-covered remains. He quickly (and comically) flees to Ann's house with a trail of tears.
  • Lee tries to stop Art, but fails. He tells the others (Eli, with Natalie and Emily) to go to the Clinic and promptly chases after Art to Ann's house.

Town Square

  • Albert pings for interactivity.
  • John-Luke (from clinic) spots the flamingo and makes a leaping tackle at it, landing in the mud. Fail.
  • Lee agrees with Natalie that Eli isn't related to Emily and asks who (s)he is.
  • Lee sees all the armed people around the town Square (the town being on alert from waste creatures) and suggests the group move to Roan's house.

Page 853

Ann's house

  • Art see Ann and promptly hugs her leg, glad she wasn't horribly exploded.
  • Ann, still wearing (only) a skimpy housecoat, covers any potential view Art may have with her hands and tries to keep her composure while consoling him.
  • Rose continues tending to Steve.
  • Art snuggles Ann's leg while crying, going on about how he saw Ann exploded. He then jumps back from Ann upon realizing she was still alive, convinced he just hugged her evil twin.
  • Steve noms the cottonballs and asks for the recipe.
  • Lee (From Roan's house) enters, tells Ann to go have her tea upon seeing her, picks up and comforts Art, and asks Rose who her friend (Steve) is. Man that guy can multitask.
  • Art calms down, slightly humiliated at being treated like a plushie.
  • Rose realizes she doesn't know Steve's name.
  • Ann realizes that really is Art, not really recognizing him with the Roan-like changes.
  • Lee uses some healing magic to staunch Steve's bleeding and repair the damage.
  • Art greets Ann, confused.
  • Ann comments about Art's look, but is quickly (and subtly) silenced by Rose, returning to drinking her prescribed tea.
  • Steve thanks Lee for healing him, and curiously asks if he is a witch. Lee confirms Steve's curiosity.
  • Art is confused by Ann's statement, feels self-conscious, and tries to pull his non-existent hat down. (A very Roan-like action)
  • Sage suddenly arrives, asking for Art.
  • Art greets Sage, worried about how flustered he is.
  • Sage feigns contentness and asks Art to come to his tower, while subconsciously realizing he left Lomgren unattended.
  • Art glomps Sage at the potential for a party, realizing he's hungry.
  • Rose asks if she should come with Sage and Art.
  • Art hugs Rose for joining the 'party' at Sage's.
  • Injugo telepathically eggs Sage on by saying he has no idea how long Art has until he's stuck this way.

Bookstore

  • Lomgren is surprised the Bookstore emptied out so quickly. He tries to unshrink himself.

Clinic

  • The sonar reveals A. Rescuer is simply dense hair and a few golf-ball sized, less dense clumps. The sonar makes A. Rescuer meek and he apologizes, making for the door.
  • Jodi humbly apologizes for how she was acting and asks him to stay, deducting (mentally) that he must be jellyfish-like in structure.
  • A. Rescuer timidly asks for no more sonar blasts, having been hurt by it.
  • Jodi feels guilty for hurting A. Rescuer and asks his name, finding it a little cute.

Town Square

  • John-Luke joins the mob at the Town Square wielding a dog-catcher's net and searching the sky. Also sneezing.
  • Albert asks an old lady with a flamethrower what is going on.

Page 854

Ann's House

  • Lee offers to stay at Ann's house to help around there. Ann seems content with Lee staying and taking care of things.
  • Steve declares he wants to write a letter to his friend and asks for a stone slab and chisel bird to do so.
  • Ann stalls Steve's request, looking at Lee. Lee raises an eyebrow at Ann. The cue was missed.
  • Ann asks Lee if he has a pen and paper on-hand.
  • Lee grabs his sketchbook and a pencil from his backpack and hands them to Steve after some minor instruction on use.
  • Steve promptly begins engraving the sketchbook, using the pencil like a scalpel. He grumbles about how the paper falls apart so easily.

Clinic

  • A. Rescuer introduces himself as Andri Valentinez Alkalinella Xifax Sicidabohertz Gombigobilla Blue Stradivari Talentrent Pierre Charton-Haymoss Ivanovici Baldeus George Doitzel Kaiser Rescuer the Third.
  • Jodi tries to remember the name and queries about how Andri talks. It is revealed that Jodi talks through vibrations and mimics the words with her mouth.
  • Andri formally greets Jodi and comments about her voice too, offering her to try out his hat (which is what permits him to speak normally instead of his natural 'meep's).

Roan's House

  • Eli heads towards the Clinic, constantly asking questions.

Town Square

  • The little old lady, of whom the Duke(Albert) asked what was going on, informs him that she knows nothing. She's just the streetcleaner. With a flamerthrower. Fwoosh.
  • The Duke queries the necessity of the power of her cleaning equipment. The little old lady informs him Gal-Zabor requires special street cleaners for special trash. Fwoosh.
  • The Duke asks tons of questions about Gal-Zabor waste ethics. And about how she got a flamethrower.
  • The little old lady laughs at the notion of Gal-Zabor having trash heaps and states magic trash usually needs to be fully removed.
  • John-Luke heads south from the town square after his Flamingo friend.
  • The mob in the town square would stare at Eli as he passes (from Roan's House to Clinic), as he resembles a waste monster.
  • Natalie vigorously screams at the mob. The mob is slightly riled by Natalie's aggression.
  • Natalie continues screaming at the mob about how the group she is with are people too, and how they wouldn't hurt anyone, despite her angry yelling. The mob starts yelling back for the 'creatures' to go back to the wastes.
  • Natalie's yelling finally falters when she suddenly gets an epiphany on why she is so protective of Emily; they are much alike.
  • A flamingo flies by Eli and John Luke bumps into him soon after, excusing himself (while extremely stuffed up). The mob is shocked by John-Luke touching Eli.

Page 855

Wikinotes

Ann's House

  • Sage mentally responds to Injugo with a frustrated threat while politely prepping Rose and Art to go to his tower for the 'party' in hopes to fix Art.
  • Rose is prepared to leave with Sage.
  • Ann looks sheepishly at Lee for Steve ruining his sketchbook.
  • Injugo laughs at Sage and hints that the only possible way to fix Art is with Lohti.
  • Art asks when Sage when they are leaving.
  • Sage gets Injugo's hint and asks Art to go invite Lohti, since they are good friends.
  • Art promptly does so, returning with Lohti. (From... Bookstore?)
  • Ann tries to get Steve to press lighter while trying to write by 'painting' the letters on, so to speak.
  • Sage turns Ann's front door into a portal to his tower library.
  • Steve promptly chews up the pencil and starts fingerprinting his message with the remains.
  • Rose steps through Sage's portal, seeming to almost lose consciousness for a moment as she does so and muttering something about being sucked out.
  • Ann nearly headdesks (metaphorically) at Steve's use of the pencil, but just rolls with it, throwing more apologetic looks to Lee. She gives a dejected cheer.
  • Lee also cheers Steve on, seemingly unfazed by the destruction of his sketchbook.
  • Ann asks who Steve is mailing the letter to.
  • Steve finishes the letter and asks it be sent through inter dimensional express by the fastest pterodactyl available.
  • Ann asks Steve to wait and rest a bit, as well as asks Lee as any news from the Clinic.

Bookstore

  • Lomgren continues trying to resize himself.

Clinic

  • Jodi declined Andri's offer and promptly hugs him. Why? He's soft and fluffy.
  • Likal tries to stay near Andri and Jodi, paranoid about the shadows out to get him.
  • Andri is happy he is being hugged and reciprocates it, purring.
  • Jodi is happy for the returned hug and afterwards decides to check on Likal.
  • Andri feels his rescuing senses tingling, and steps away from the Clinic towards the town Square.

The Rex

  • Daniel returns to his room and gets cleaned up. He's not happy to be grounded.

Rivelle's House

  • Rivelle (From Town Square), having no desire to go home, takes her life into her own hands and commandeers one of the unoccupied houses near the deathmanse. She promptly sets off to collect the resources to make her own business in the wandcrafting industry.

Sage's Tower

  • Art (From Ann's House) drags Lothi through the portal, amazed at how big Sage's library is.

Town Square

  • John-Luke collapses (after a sneeze), dog-catching net clattering beside him. The flamingo flies on.
  • The mob, seeing John-Luke, is torn between trying to help him and risk being contaminated with whatever got him.
  • The Duke (Albert) continues walking whereever. Minimal post is minimal.
  • As Eli walks away from the mob, Anne coaxes them to attack.
  • The mob falls for Anne's provocation and start rushing at Eli. Jack Barrowkeep looks at Anne, impressed.

Pages 856 to 860

Page 856

Ann's House

  • Lee tells Ann that the Clinic hasn't changed much. Likal was still a duck, and Marlee was gone - probably from Art's change.
  • Ann is confused at what is meant by 'Art's Change'.
  • Ann states to Lee that before Art came in, Rose and herself were going to clean Steve up.

Bookstore

  • Lomgren, exhausted from willing himself back to normal size, gets dressed and recalls that he hasn't eaten yet. He prepares to return to the Rex.

Clinic

  • Likal quacks quizzically at Andri as the hairball starts to leave.

Sage's Tower

  • Art questions what kind of party is held in a library.

Town Square

  • Injugo forms a ribbon bubble around Eli's group, using an illusion to scare away the mob attacking them. He fufufus at Anne. (That's Injugo's laugh)
  • The Duke (Albert) enters to town square and blinks at all the fleeing people.
  • Jack Barrowkeep decides to leave the scene as well. Or start to, at least.
  • Injugo removes the ribbon dome and appears from the mass of ribbons, collecting the mob's dropped weapons in a ball.
  • Rivelle confronts Injugo. Hesitantly. She's new to this bravery stuff.
  • Natalie prepares to defend Emily.
  • Anne, her plan foiled, hucks a rock at Inugo.
  • The rock passes through Injugo's head, which ribbon-izes and immediately reforms. Scissors beats ribbon, not rock, silly girl.
  • Jack Barrowkeep, having hung back a little, immediately bails upon Anne stoning Injugo.
  • Rivelle finds herself unable to charge or flee, and asks Injugo what he is doing here.
  • Albert unsheathes his sword and tells Injugo to stop.
  • Anne grins at the sudden backup.
  • Archie and Feather (From Squato's Ranch) arrive.
  • Injugo explains to Rivelle that he is here about Art and that he is bored and playing around with the silly mortals. He turns Albert's sword into ribbons for a moment.
  • Ice suddenly rains down on Injugo as Hail (the character) take a large form nearby and maintains a fighter's stance.
  • Injugo states that he has never resorted to violence, ss well as does creepy stuff like spinning his head around to look at people.
  • Hail explains that he is not a mortal, but a muse. (Injugo keeps referring to people as 'silly mortals'.)

Page 857

Ann's House

  • Lee agrees with Ann and asks where Steve can be washed off.
  • Ann gives directions to her washroom. Lee asks if Ann has any old towels. Ann grabs some towels and follows Lee to the washroom.
  • Lee turns the shower on, strips down to his boxers, and moves Steve into the shower to wash off the filth. Cue Yaoi. I'm kidding.
  • Ann drops the towels off for Lee and quickly flees when he starts undressing. Cue mental yaoi. Ann goes to retrieve some cleaning supplies instead, since there is mud all over the floor.
  • Steve greets the shower head, and breaks into a ticklish fit when Lee starts cleaning him.

Bookstore

  • Lomgren, seeing the stand-off near the bookstore, decides it might be best to stay inside.

Clinic

  • Andri tells Likal that he heard something he needs to investigate and heads towards the center of the Town Square.

Sage's Tower

  • Sage tells Art that they don't need to be quiet, going on to explain it's one of the nicer rooms he has that aren't deadly to people.
  • Art asks where the party stuff is for said party.

Town Square

  • Anne looks at the forming group around Injugo and comments how sweet the fight is going to be.
  • Injugo mocks Hail and moves Natalie, Eli, and Emily some distance away on a magic carpet of ribbons, incase some beat down has to be administered.
  • Rivelle states that Injugo is surrounded and tries to intimidate him.
  • Injugo laughs it off and states that despite being a pacifist, he will defend himself if need be.
  • Rivelle is confused that he is a pacifist, and asks why the mob attacked and how they were repelled if that was true. She notes him being a Reality mage.
  • An earthworm works its way up John-Luke's nose, in an attempt to bring some attention to the unconscious character right near Injugo.
  • Rivelle is still skeptical about Injugo and asks if Natalie's group is alright.
  • John-Luke begins to twitch and mutter in his fever. (The notion of him being sick is sudden)
  • Anne tries to provoke the small group around Injugo to attack. Again.
  • Hail moves over to Anne and tells her to leave Eli alone.
  • Rivelle approaches Injugo unarmed, deciding he may not be a threat after all.
  • Injugo comments about Hails sudden turncoat and traps Anne in a 'Time out' room.
  • Anne accuses Hail of being a waste monster and when attempting to retreat slams into one of the walls of said 'Time out' room (which is invisible).
  • Hail states that he meant Eli, not Injugo. He states his ambiguousness is due to his neutrality.
  • Injugo argues Hails point.

Page 858

Ann's House

  • Lee introduces himself to Steve, while continuing to clean him off and check for wounds.
  • Steve greets the showerhead, mistaking it for Lee. He asks Lee how long he's been in the shower business.
  • Lee's examination reveals small scrapes and bruises and a scar over his left kidney. He heals the minor injuries and continues the idle banter with Steve.
  • Ann sits at her kitchen table, worrying about all the problems around town. She decides to do something about it.
  • Lee catches Ann walking by the bathroom and asks where to put the clothes. Ann directs him where to wash it.
  • Ann asks how long she will be protected from her estrous cycle. Lee estminates an hour.
  • The flamingo of plot (From Town Square) lands on Ann's roof and idly prunes its feathers, then jumps down in front of her door.
  • Lee stops Ann to talk about her body at Roan's house, not knowing the local customs for handling the deceased. Ann decides she has to go there anyway to collect some stuff.
  • Just before leaving, Ann grabs some gloves and asks if it's a contact poison. Lee says no. Ann leaves.

Bookstore

  • Lomgren watches the events going on in the Town Square from his Bookstore, chuckling a little as Anne gets sent into the time-out room.

Clinic

  • Andri heads to the town Square. (After leaving three times.)
  • Likal follows Andri as he leaves the Clinic, and Jodi follows Likal.

Town Square

  • Natalie refrains from attacking the ribbons, deeming them safe.
  • Eli simply watches, not caring what was going on.
  • Archie and Feather, continuing to the town square, see Andri, Likal, and Jodi and stare at the odd creatures.

Page 859

Wiki notes

Ann's House

  • Ann immediately spots the Flamingo of plot outside her house.
  • Lee goes to check on Steve, only to find he's left the bathroom. There's a trail of water leading to the spare bedroom. Steve had went to sleep in the bed.
  • Ann asks the Flamingo if it is Likal. The flamingo simply flies off towards the bookstore. Ann follows, despite thinking it wasn't Likal.
  • Lee turns off the shower and discovers Steve in the spare bedroom.

Town Square

  • Andri sings a merry song as he walks into the Town Square.
  • The Flamingo (from Ann's house) lands on the bookstore's roof. Ann goes inside, since it was one of the places to check.
  • Injugo starts meditating on a giant ribbonball.
  • Rivelle continues trying to judge threat levels.
  • One of the mob members from before returns to retrieve a heirloom weapon. Injugo is unresponsive.
  • Anne pulls some matches out of her pocket and attempts to ignite the ribbon wall of the time-out corner.
  • Andri sees the ribbons ignite and runs over to help. Anne tries not to breathe in smoke.
  • The man from the mob tries to find his weapon in the yarnball, but can't get into it.

Sheldon's house

  • Sheldon puts a 'Herb shop' sign outside his door.

Page 860

Ann's House

  • Steve recovers from his delirium, while Lee washes Steve's clothes. Lee goes to fix himself something to eat afterward.
  • Steve hears the dryer's buzzer, which wakes him up, and he wanders out of the bedroom looking for anyone to talk to.

Bookstore

  • Ann escorts Lomgren to the Rex as he's unnerved by the ongoings in the town square and won't leave by himself.

Lake

  • Andri (From town square) arrives at the docks and greets the woman.

Sage's Tower

  • Sage and Art kinda talk about the party without really having it.

Sheldon's house

  • Sheldon decides to talk a walk about the town, since no one has shown interest in his shop.

Town Square

  • Archie and Feather arrives behind Likal (From the Clinic) and sees Anne in the smoke filled room (despite the invisible walls. I guess the smoke would define it, though.) Anne cries for help.
  • Rivelle continues pondering over whom was good or bad in this situation, but ultimately decides to try to help Anne out. She doesn't know where to start, though.
  • Injugo removes the timeout room entirely, fire and all, leaving Anne perfectly fine (but without matches).
  • Anne wants revenge, but Archie intervenes and orders her to her room. She complies.
  • Natalie and Emily are confused and crying.
  • Rivelle is satisfied that everything is alright now.
  • Andri asks the man looking for the heirloom if he needs help, as he seems to have his hand stuck. The man gladly accept the help, but doesn't care about the hand and asks Andri to get rid of his mother.
  • Injugo immediately teleports the woman away (to the Lake docks). The man assumes she has permanently vanished and wanders away, mentally conflicted.
  • Ann(From the bookstore) surveys the scene and spots Likal. Archie spots Ann and valiantly orders the return of the old woman to impress the General. Injugo ignores him.
  • Rivelle tries to comfort Archie, saying the woman is probably aright.
  • Lomgren (From the bookstore) takes the long way around to the Rex. However, he bumps into Sheldon along way way.
  • Andri, determined to help the man with his mother, uses a technique to listen very intensely and hears her from the docks. He immediately heads that way.

Pages 861 to 865

Page 861

Ann's House

  • Lee heard the dryer buzzer as well and runs into Steve while heading towards it.
  • Steve greets Lee and gives him a hug, glad he was real. He inquires if the others were real as well.

Lake

  • Andri greets the crabby old woman and asks if he can help her. She goes off on an angry rant. Andri pulls out a rickshaw (where was he keeping that?) to return her.

Town Square

  • Rivelle tries to explain what she thinks happened here, at Archie's request. Archie decides everything is alright, except for John-Luke, whom is still passed out in the middle of the town square (but everyone forgot about him.) Feather moves to attend to him.
  • Lomgren excuses himself from bumping into Sheldon and continues on his way. Sheldon, having been brushed off, wanders towards the park.
  • Archie greets Ann and states everything is under control. She asks about the unconscious man. Feather states he is sick and requests to take him to the clinic. Achie and Ann agree. Ann escorts Feather to the clinic. With Likal.

Page 862

Ann's House

  • Lee states Ann and Rose are real. He asks if Steve would like some sandwiches.
  • All this new information, along with failing to understand what sandwiches were, starts getting to Steve.
  • Lee (In correlation to the events at Sage's tower) is suddenly wearing Roan's hat. He is spooked by the loud fufufufu.

Clinic

  • Ann, Likal, and Feather (With John-Luke, all from Town Square) enter, Ann scans for any shadows while Feather brings John Luke in the back room.
  • Feather undresses John-Luke so he can be properly examined.
