The Amon Star class, named after the former Sub-Commander, is the EGSDF's newest battleship, and the first class of ships that was developed entirely by the EGSDF Navy. Designed to fit Mayhem's unique demands, it is quite an interesting warship. The defining characteristic of this class of warships is the interchangeable 'mission module' system. This allows the ship to be adapted to any number of missions, functioning as a sensor platform, orbital artillery base, carrier, or troop transport, depending on which modules are installed. The modular system is not the only unique capability possessed by the 'Star class; the ship's spacewarp bubble can be extended to cover a large area, making the battleships useful as a hyperspace or interdimensional tug for other ships. This reduces the percentage of the fleet that must be equipped with expensive hyperlight/interdimensional drive, making other classes faster and cheaper to produce. Another feature of note is that the ship lacks a traditional bridge. Instead, the Star class is fitted with a large combat information center, enabling them to function as a forward command post, a sort of mini-MOC. All these factors taken together make the Amon Star class an incredibly powerful and versatile warship.

The [[EGS_Defense_Force|EGSDF]] could not always expect their allies to provide ships, and needed a class of ship that could meet the unique needs of an organization such as the Force. Such a ship would need to have the range and endurance to operate unsupported for long periods of time. It would need to be flexible enough to perform multiple missions, including troop transport, aircraft carrying, and general scientific missions. It would also need to be able to travel between separate universes rapidly and without error. Designing and building such a ship was one of the most ambitious projects undertaken by the EGSDF Navy. Three ships were secretly constructed within the MOC's shipyards. The lead ship of the class, the [[MSC Amon Star]], named for the late sub-commander, was completed shortly after the events at the Mall.
