Tuadmumu

Tuadmumu (C013) is a county in the duchy of Munster in the kingdom of Ireland.
Tuadmumu covers somewhat similar territory to the Irish Kingdom of Thomond (Middle Irish: Tuadh Mumhan or Tuadhmumhain, "North Munster"; Modern Irish: Tuamhain) which existed between 1118 and 1194. Before this, it was attached to the Kingdom of Munster directly, afterwards it existed as a variety of English titles. Thomond originally comprised the dioceses of Killaloe, Cashel & Emly, and Limerick, as well as the portion of Kerry north of a line drawn from the southern border of Limerick to the sea. It is now divided between Counties Clare and Limerick, as well as parts of Kerry, Tipperary, and Offaly.
The map province includes more land to the northeast, omits some of the land to the southwest, and has a misshapen coastline.

History
North Munster is mentioned in the Irish Annals as a region from the latter 11th century, but began to exist in its own right following a treaty at Glanmire in 1118. King Toirdhealbhach ua Conchobhair of Connacht, King Murchadh O'Maelsechlainn of Temhair, and Aed O'Ruairc divided Munster between the mac Carthaighs in the south and the ua Briain in the north. By the 13th century, the Normans had greatly shrunken Thomond, first removing much of it to Ormond ("East Munster") and then reducing it to County Clare.
The lord in 1066 was Toirdelbaig mac Taidg mac Briain (English: Turlough MacTeigue MacBrien, r. 1064 - 1086); in 1187, Domnaill Mór mac Toirrdelbaig ua Briain (English: Domnall the Great MacTurlough O'Brien, r. 1167 - 1194); in 1337, Muirchertach mac Toirdelbaig ua Briain (English: Murtough MacTurlough-of-the-Triumphs O'Brien, r. 1313 - 1343).

Prominent ui Fidgeinti families included: the ua Deághaidh (O'Dea) of Dysart, the ua Cuinn (O'Quinn) of Muintir Ifernain, the ua Haiéhir (O'Hehir) of the Islands, the ua Domhnaill (O'Donnell), and the the Mathúna (MacMahon) of Corca Baisgin.
The ua Conchobhair (O'Connor) of Corcomroe and the ua Lochlainn (O'Loughlin) of the Burren were ui Breacain. Other families include: the mac Bruaideadha (MacBrody) hereditary historians of Thomond, the mac Flannacadha (MacClancy) hereditary Brehons of Thomond, the ua Dabhoireann (O'Davoren) of Muintir Lidheagha and Brehons at Cahermacnaghten, the ua Maoldomhnaigh (O'Moloney) of Cuiltenan, the ua hAllmhurain (O'Halloran) of Fay ui hAllmhurain.
