One of the most attractive features for many Paradox games is that saved game files can be converted over to future games. For instance, an American saved game in Victoria Revolutions can be converted to Hearts of Iron, and an America saved game in Europa Universalis II or III can be converted to Victoria Revolutions.

Given that Crusader Kings can begin as early as December 26 1066 and that Hearts of Iron ends around 1960, (give or take 5-10 years) one single country can be controlled and played for for nearly 900 years if one continually converts it to the later 3 games.

With the game ending on December 30 1452, a single Crusader Kings game can last a maximum of approximately 386 years.

Here is a converter for the original Europa Universalis 3.

Although not yet developed, discussions are ongoing for a converter to what's believed to be the final expansion to EU3, Heir to the Throne.

There is also discussion of a possible future converter for CK games to the new remake of EU2:AGCEEP known as "For the Glory" but it's unlikely to begin until the converter for EU3: HttT is completed.

As for AGCEEP, no converter is presently planned. With the AGCEEP founders having moved on from an EU II mod to an actual commercial remark of EU II with "For the Glory" it's unlikely a converter for AGCEEP will ever be completed.

However, enterprising fans are still welcome to try and make one if they wish. CK converters for all Paradox games are greatly appreciated.

CONTROVERSY ISSUE WITH JUDAISM

In Paradox games the religion of a province reflects on the -majority- religious group. Thus, just because a country has all-Catholic provinces doesn't mean that there are no Protestants or Jews in it.

And just as there might be Jews and Zoroastrians in certain Persian provinces, their listed status as Muslim doesn't mean they don't exist. The fact that Jewish and Zoroastrian countries are non-playable is not in and of itself an issue as Paradox games are historically modeled and no such nations existed within the time-frame of said games. Except for one instance- Crusader Kings.

Where the problem begins is in Crusader Kings- where several Jewish provinces exist in Kazakh regions where historically they flourished.

So what's the problem? The problem is that no mods presently allow Jewish regions to transfer over as Jewish (although mods to play the Kazakhs exist and Judaism will sometimes survive the game and spread even without playing directly as them). Thus, Jewish provinces and religious spread is automatically erased and are changed to other religions.

Also, no other Paradox games enable Judaism as a major provincial and national religion.

This problem was likely never intentional and is most likely an oversight on account of the Kazakhs (and Jewish majority provinces) being such a small part of Crusader Kings.

If further attention to the issue is brought to Paradox developers and modders then it is possible that a solution will be devised that will enable Jewish provinces to convert and which won't automatically let them disappear.
