You looked carefully for an interesting victim. The possibilities were many, but eventually you found one particularly interesting one: a young, sickly girl, the older daughter in a family of farmers. She was born with an illness and a weak constitution, but she recently took a turn to the worse. Everyone, including herself, is expecting her to die any moment. She's thin and frail-looking and her naturally pale complexion makes her look almost dead already. A shame: her long red hair and her beautiful blue eyes would have won her many suitors if she had been healthier.
None of those features were of any particular interest to you, however. What caught your attention were the girl's pleas: she had been praying for her deity to make her feel better through all her life. And recently, when she realized she was about to die, she started praying to other things too. Seemingly anyone who'd be willing to listen.
You always did have a soft spot for honest pleas.
