Chapter 17: Secrets revealed
"Ok," you tell Chrissy. "We'll go over to your place tonight, if you promise me your roommate will be there... otherwise, there's no point."
"Hold on a moment," she says. A quick call confirms that Laura, her roommate, is spending the night at home.
15 minutes later, you are knocking on the front door of Chrissy's room. Laura pulls open the door. "Tom!" she says happily. "What are you doing here?"
"Let me in," you say, "and we'll discuss it."
You settle on a chair, facing Chrissy and Laura, who are sitting on the sofa facing you with their arms around each other. "Chrissy told me all about you two," you say. "She also said that of all the guys in school, you like me best."
"Correction," says Laura. "I'm actually fully in love with you. Every time you come over, I feel heartbroken when you leave. That's how Chrissy and I got involved: she was consoling me, and one thing led to another. She says you're the best brother in the whole world."
"She's the best sister in the whole world," you respond. Chrissy suddenly raises her hand in a gesture that says "stop for a sec." She whispers something to Laura, whose jaw drops open.
After a hurried, whispered consultation, Laura says, "I didn't know you two were... involved. Is that true?"
"It certainly is," you respond.
"I have an idea," Laura says. She beckons you forward to join them.
"First, let me ask you, Tom: how do you like me?"
"I think you're a wonderful person, and very attractive," you say.
"Good!" she says. "Then you'll love this idea." She lays out a shocking suggestion.
