About a month later, Michelle informs you via e-mail that she's dropping out of school and moving to New York. She tells you she's gotten a job out there in an art studio. She says she's going out there with her "boyfriend and girlfriend," which sounds a little odd. Not 10 minutes later, you get a weird e-mail from your graduate assistant, Steve. He says he's going to New York, too. He says he's tired of academia and has found some great people that he wants to spend time with.

• write Steve and tell him to get a grip on reality
• write Michelle and try to get her to explain
