Rescue/Try to lock the roof access door

I run to the door and attempt to lock it as fast as I can. I look at the handle desperately pleading that there's a latch. I don't see one, but I attempt to block up the door. I try to move a pallet of bricks nearby, but can't and resort to holding the door closed with my own weight. I can hear footsteps running up the stairs, and then, the door comes flying open, knocking me to the ground. I scream as he laughs, and pulls the gun up, aiming at me. As he goes to pull the trigger, I roll to the side, narrowly avoiding the bullet. I get up and run to him as he gets ready to fire again, and give him a swift kick to the groin. He yelps, and falls to his knees, giving me a second to look for a way down. I run to the door of the stairwell when I'm stopped cold by a pain in my head, and everything goes black, my body sliding down the stairs and resting at the landing. I have no clue what the man will do with my body, but I can guarantee that Alex is dead, but then again, so am I.
