Fortunately the dog is too small to do any damage. Fred gives it a kick on the bum and it runs out of the cave, whimpering a little.
Fred feels kind of bad about it, but the dog did attack him. And he didn't hurt it. Fred went deeper into the cave. Suddenly it opened up into a large area with many steaming, clanking machines. Fred could see just enough to make his way through the rows. Occasinally he spotted vague dark shapes doing things. He wasn't sure he wanted to know what was going on.
