The End/Attempt to follow the footsteps?

You get up and rush after the footsteps. You register that you were in an alley before you dash into the street.
It's a busy street and headlights are rushing past. You know that it's nighttime but every thing's just way too bright. You shield your eyes from the glare of light. Funny, you never remembered the lights of the city being this bright before.
It takes you a moment to realize that whoever that person was, you aren't going to find them anytime soon. Your curse to yourself. You look back to the alley but it offers you no answers.
