High School/Floater Locker

You arrive at your locker. As you begin unlocking it, the school intercom comes on and out booms the voice of the principal. You don't hear to the first few words he says as they were muffled by static, courtesy of the school's shitty, cheap intercom system.
"...Reminding you that this Friday the Junior/Senior Prom Dance will be held in the gym starting at..."
Shit! The dance. You still don't have a date. You grab your copy of The Art of War by Sun Tzu and close your locker. If you arrive at that dance ALONE, your social life is over, and everything you did to build up your reputation throughout all your years in high school will be in vain.
As if God himself answered your cry for help, you see your crush just a few lockers down.
