Clem pulled out her hatchet and bashed his hand with it, putting his fingers and killing him. Clem looks down, she sees man´s dead body lying in pool of blood.
This man saved your life and had a great plan. But as you learned no one lives forever.
Maybe he is bandit who just fooled you into thinking he is good guy. Or he was really a good guy and you killed innocent man.
