The excuse seemed lame, even to you. Dan nods and turns around, leaving you in the open doorway. You get a feeling that you should have agreed, but that feeling passes and you close the door.
For being a selfish prick and bad neighbor, your road ends here. Next time help the new guy, you will be richly rewarded.
