From Create Your Own Story
Please pay attention to what you are doing. Replacing every single story pitch on the Idea Pitches page with your own pitch is not acceptable. --Platypus 02:21, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
Please make sure to include the title of the story as a category on each page you post. If you don't know how to add categories, please review the Tutorial, especially Basic page format.--Platypus 18:39, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
Bolding
Hello MFCmaster123. The mobile and desktop version of the site is exactly the same. Both should have the ribbon at the top of the edit box which has the different editing buttons, like the B for bold, I for Italics, Ab for internal link, etc.
Just click the B button, delete the text that appears in it, then put your text.
You can also bold by implementing the '''Bolded Text''' editing option. Just put the three 's together, and it will recognize it as bolded. You can do similar with ''Italic text'' using two 's. Ab can be replaced by using [[Link title]] and etc for the others. Happy editing ^.^ --Dirty Me 04:28, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
disclaimers
Original authors generally don't have a problem with the existence of fan fiction, as long as it isn't bringing the fan ficcer a profit and it isn't interfering in the continued publishing of their original works. However, a disclaimer on the first page where you acknowledge Rick Riordan and refer readers to the original would be a good touch.
And don't thank Dirty Me for her help on my page. Thank her own her own. :) (Yes, she's a girl). --Platypus 09:21, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
Sadly, fan fic is a very grey area. They can fall under fair use, but the sad part is that fair use is a court defense, so you do not get to test it unless it goes to court. Most fan fiction though is ignored. Fifty Shades of Gray is the most well known fan fiction. The best idea is to take the idea and build off it, but not to copy directly. If you know the location of your work, you can try giving me the link (post it without the http and :), and I can take a look. But keep in mind, I am familiar with IP, but I am far from a lawyer. I just work very closely with lawyers. If you want to know more about fan fiction, you can check out the wikipedia entry about it: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_issues_with_fan_fiction (See, links like this do not mess up with the link posting). Anyways, it is an at your own risk thing, but I honestly doubt you will have too many problems. Sadly though, this is just my opinion. --Dirty Me 15:20, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
You are free to discuss anything you like on this wiki. You can talk to individuals just like we're doing, through each other's talk pages. You can address all users by using the discussion tab on the Main Page. --Platypus 18:29, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
I'm not the Administrator here. Robkohr is the Admin. I'm a sysop, and I have a special account because RobKohr granted it to me. --Platypus 17:16, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
