"Ah, my sister." he says. "She's lovely. She was just mated last year, to my best friend. It's actually the first time we've been separated since she was born. Though I'm a great deal older than her, we would play together like any other siblings. I often found myself acting like a pup around her, and mother would often scold me for it, saying that I should act my age for once. There is little I cherish more in this world."
You smile, quite envious of him having such a lovely family. "I would give everything if I could have had a childhood like yours."
He sighs. "I'm sorry. Being a slave, I imagine you never knew your family."
You shake your head. "No, I didn't. I heard that my mother got sold as a sex slave as soon as I was born, and my father got sent to the mines. That's all I know about them."
"I apologize, I shouldn't have been so thoughtless towards you." he whimpers.
Now you feel bad that he feels bad. "No, it's okay. I'm free now, so my past life no longer matters."
