You ruffle through some of your logs and pull out a recent one that catches your eye.

January 12th, 1687

Today was a prosperous occassion.

Daily Log of Ships:

Lady Clementine heard about us from a servant. Came in at 7:10 hours. Paid in advance: 17 shillings. Requested Sir Windsor. Drank tea at 7:18 hours and left with a smile. Maple told me she read her tea and has a good feeling about this one.

Stable Boy Edward Ansgot was refered to us by an anonymous happy customer. Came in at 10:47 hours. IOU set for 20 shillings. Requested Ruth Marillac. Drank tea at 11:00 hours and hurried off. I have a feeling that this may be a forbidden love. Maple and I are very excited for this ship!

You sigh nostalgically, remembering the day when Lady Clementine ran in tears to your booth, hissing, "You little gremlins, you've tricked me! Sir Windsor told me today himself that he's interested in getting engaged to a young lady from town. My life is over, he doesn't love me and you lied!" It definitely wasn't the first time that a customer hadn't been happy with your services. You had looked to Maple nervously and she didn't move a muscle, only smiling demurely as she chimed, "Lady Clementine, you must give our magic time to work! It was only last week that you enlisted our help. Won't you please give it another week? If you're still not content we can assure you you will receive a full refund." She had that twinkle in her eye, the twinkle that you knew so well. In a huff, Lady Clementine had marched off, fuming words that would make a sailor blush. She was a woman who did not enjoy being a fool of, that you knew for sure. The very next day she returned, a skip in her step and a cheery tone in her voice as she sang, "Oh, my darlings! You would not believe what Sir Windsor has done." You were nearly shaking with excitement. This was your absolutely favourite part of the job. It was what made it all worthwhile. "The woman that he has pledged to propose to is me! He has already discussed it with Mother and Father and the wedding bells shall be ringing soon! I cannot thank you enough, children!" Her slender fingers played with your hair, her smile brighter than the sun.

You realize with a start that you've been daydreaming again. Maple's always telling you you have your head in the clouds. Better get back to business.
