You swim after the black-tailed mermaid. She hesitates, seemingly surprised that you would even attempt to pursue her. That hesitation gives you the opportunity to grab at the Gem. The mermaid opens her mouth, revealing sharp, sharklike teeth. She tosses the Gem right in between those teeth. It sparkles on her pink tongue...
