You spread your arms.
"I'm really sorry for offending you. I must have drunk far too much last night, and your name has totally slipped my mind. Honestly, I feel terrible about that."
Her stance softens slightly. "Well you should feel bad."
"I'm awful with names," you smile weakly. "So please don't take it personally. We had lots of fun last night, and that's what counts, right?"
"I suppose..." she says, biting her lower lip.
"Sometimes I even forget my own name," you laugh. There's truth in that, too. You have no idea who the fuck you are.
She giggles. "Well I know what that's like!"
She seems to be coming around.
