You can't just let this gross pervert get away with something of this scale. You call the police when you get home and report your boss. They send a group to the office immediately and search the computer and his office. Instead, they find him hanging by his tie from the ceiling. A note in his hand is addressed to you. The police retrieve it and give it to you without opening it.

The note reads:

I know you saw it. You are computer programmer for gods sake, you wouldn't be as good as I know you are if you didn't notice. I trust you will continue with the project as planned. If you do it well, it will be the biggest success this company has ever seen. I have a problem and have tried to control it for the last 20 years of my sad life. I should have turned myself in long ago and hopefully you have the strong moral code to turn me today. Even if you don't, I will be dead by the time you come back into work tomorrow. Don't blame yourself my death, I am a twisted individual who deserves no sympathy. When you become the head of a company, maybe even this one, please keep your head on your shoulders. Don't lose yourself in the madness even though it will be very easy to do so. You will be great one day, you already are.

You want to cry at this note but it almost doesn't feel right to do so. This is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to you and also the saddest. The company promotes the VP to the head position and you move up in the ranks as well. You continue on the project and just like the boss predicted it is a wild success. You get a huge promotion and a large bonus. Ten years later, after many more successes and hard work, you are the boss now. You are living the dream you chased the day you left that boring old office job, and you could not be happier. You got married five years ago to a wonderful chef and have triplets. This is it. Congratulations!
