"iPod man, look out!" you shout, hoping this time it actually works.

It doesn't.

The out of control vehicle jumps up onto the platform and plows into not only the iPod user, but a few others too. Right before the car also throws you over its' hood, a blindly bright flash comes from its' lights and forces you to cover your face with your arms instinctively.

A few seconds pass and you don't find yourself on the hood of the car. You lower your arms, confused as to why you're okay, and realize as you stand in a black abyss that your time must have ran out right before it hit you.

"To make the same mistake, twice, in a row. Now that is exactly why I chose you," a voice says. You recognize it immediately as the one you struck the deal with exactly one hour ago. You turn to face the direction it is coming from and find yourself staring at some kind of phantom.

It floats off the ground a few feet away, nothing more than a hooded black cloak and a featureless, white porcelain mask. You can see no body or discernable form, and where its' eyes should be in the mask you see only black.

"I've come to collect. If you were that exciting to watch, I know that having you for the rest of eternity will be equally as enjoyable," the voice says, followed by a cruel, haunting laugh.

"Eternity? The deal was only until I paid my debt," you say to correct it.

"You should have read the fine print on your contract," the phantom responds as it turns and floats away, "too bad you'll no longer have a chance to learn from your mistakes."

You walk after the phantom, not through choice, but because your legs now move on their own against your will. You walk through the darkness, wishing you had checked the stupid contract for its' fine print before you signed it.
