Hey, I've got most of chapter one of Remember recorded and it's turning out really good. I'm thinking I can upload chapter one by itself, and then say "to be continued" after the last choice leading to chapter 2. Hey, I've been a fan of this site for awhile and had the idea to adapt some of the stories to youtube. Essentially they would be audiobooks of the stories where you would make your decision at the end of the video, leading you to the next part of the story. I'm an experienced actor, so would voice act them myself. I think that done properly, these could be very successful on YouTube. I think your stories are incredibly well written. It's good to know that you enjoyed "Megan". I love getting feedback, and as for your question for the "What If?" situation, I could perhaps do that. It might take some time, however.

Right now I've got the first page of "The Diary Of Bethany Cross" in the works, and after that I might get some work done on [[What Lies Beneath|WLB]]. After WLB and "The Diary", I'm planning on a chapter-by-chapter story that would unite the characters of "Rescue", "Megan", "WLB", and "The Diary" (Dead characters will still appear. Not sure how to explain it yet, but it'll happen) and thrust them into the potential end of the world.

The idea of a "What If?" version is a bit interesting, though. I'm wondering if you mean if Megan didn't kill herself, kill Vanessa, or if Vanessa killed Megan (which happens in one of the pages)? It could be fun to play around with all three of those ideas, really. Believe it or not, I've still got at least six kills to work in eventually in a later update - the gun and power-tools kills - I added the ending in so I could consider it "finished" for now and potentially get it to be the featured story and get it some exposure. Apologies for getting back to you so late, but I think the first and third ideas could work out really well. The first would depend mostly on where the story goes with the idea you started with, but it could work. Reviews would be pretty good, too. Good reviews help motivate writers and constructive criticism helps them improve. The second idea reminds me a bit of Community, though. Which - don't get me wrong - is awesome on its own. Hey, just saw the review, and thanks! Always awesome to get a well written review on something I wrote. As for the story only having one (true) ending, I understand completely. I actually have been toying with other endings (besides the one page where Vanessa kills Megan), including things like Vanessa killing Megan and surviving, Megan wimping out at the end and going home, Megan getting arrested, and stuff like that in my head. As you stated in the review, it's not finished yet, so there's time for me to add those in later. Oh, and I saw you said you only read one of the brutal kills. Which one? In a strange, morbid way I want to know which one it was so I can tell if I wrote it well.

Having a section for story reviews sounds like a good idea. Writers usually like feedback, especially constructive criticism. I appreciate being invited to join the review process, but it all depends on how much time I find to work on such a thing. The two possibilities I've thought of for a review area are
*a link on the Main Page to a Review Page, like the way there's the link to the Featured Story area.

The problem with William is I'm not certain what choices the player will have to make while he's in Michael's custody.

Here's a brief summary. Bear in mind that these events only occur if the reader goes down a certain path.

William uses his powers to kill Michael's friends (it's ironic that you would emphasize "accidentally," because he's mostly in control by this point in the story).

William and Michael have their first showdown in a warehouse. At first, William's powers give him the edge, but he soon realizes that Michael is too much for him to handle. Michael savagely beats him in retaliation for the deaths of his friends.

Vincent arrives at Karen's home to kill her. Rebecca also arrives to kill Vincent. The two beat each other senseless, until another figure appears, and then things really go to hell.

It was really interesting although the plot made it sound a lot like a Saw movie. The background shows a mean person and the guy capturing him sounds like a brother which didn't make a lot of sense. After all, he sounded like an enemy after the hate in the responses to questions.

For some strange reason I keep having an obligation to edit every time I see a mistake. Well, I'll check the minor edit box next time.

Oh, right, I wanted to ask for an opinion on something I thought about. Most pages don't place a letter or title before the page names. So, the only two courses that can be done,(without plowing through every story to start over) is to let certain pages overlap. [[Kill yourself]] has eleven categories. Tell me what you think, because eventually, if nothing is done, what with pages being added, page names will be so long we could let the option be clicking the stroy in itself, just to not allow overlaps.

For example, if someone else put R, for another story, the page would be edited and it may seem like a small thing but it would get very annoying if it happens repeatedly. However, if for pages like [[Kill yourself]], the story works well, it can be some sort of intersection. It'll probably only work on endings, but it gets annoying. Once I made a page [[Die]] and it was already taken and completely inappropiate. Since it is a very small title it does seem weird. Besides, it would be easier than going through large stories, pulling them out and repasting them. It would be fine for simple stories. However, a lot go into near 100 and there is a 200 pager(The Kitty in the Window) which would probably lose pages in the process. Oh, right and it might be slightly easier to make a category, like '''Public''' to place the... public stories.

Also, maybe we could have a 'Story of the Year Award'. The nominations for this award could include the stories that were featured

Well the problem with that is that the ''page views functtion'' isn´t based on individual viewers, but on how many times that page has been accsesed no matter if it was the same person. So one person could click on a link a thousand times and thus give that option a thousand votes. It´s not a functional voting system. Users would need to leave their signature on which story they vote on (a public vote so to say). Sure that system could be cheated to by creating new accounts and using them to vote. But that requiers a lot more effort, and would get suspective seeing so many new members being created and all of them voting for the same guy.

Other than that it´s seems like a fun and intruiging idea. Alternatively you could do a "story of all time" vote with the first one.

I have, however, been known to patrol the recent changes to see what's been going on, and I'll visit the "uncategorized pages" at least once per site visit.

Hell, Sunday night I brought it from uncategorized 40 pages to the normal 4 (5 if you count the blanked page that I couldn't do anything about) and warned a pair of authors. I just help out around the site, seeing as I've pretty much always got the recent changes page open in another tab at all times, and I just try to lessen the workload for Platypus when he gets back on. Replying here again. First off, I'm flattered that you think my opinion means so much - even if I can't see how one would come to that conclusion. Now, onto what you were asking about. I think the division of "Remember" into chapters could work really well. It's a lot like I was thinking of doing for my next story, dividing it into chapters for easier access, and for people to jump back into where they were when they last were reading it.

The Endings will increase it cheeriness and amount Harris remembers until 6 (several paths to that), where Harris can remember everything, and it's really nice, but he can also walk down the other path and get a new planet. Oh, right, I wanted to ask for an opinion on something I thought about. Most pages don't place a letter or title before the page names. So, the only two courses that can be done,(without plowing through every story to start over) is to let certain pages overlap. [[Kill yourself]] has eleven categories. Tell me what you think, because eventually, if nothing is done, what with pages being added, page names will be so long we could let the option be clicking the stroy in itself, just to not allow overlaps.

For example, if someone else put R, for another story, the page would be edited and it may seem like a small thing but it would get very annoying if it happens repeatedly. However, if for pages like [[Kill yourself]], the story works well, it can be some sort of intersection. It'll probably only work on endings, but it gets annoying. Once I made a page [[Die]] and it was already taken and completely inappropiate. Since it is a very small title it does seem weird. Besides, it would be easier than going through large stories, pulling them out and repasting them. It would be fine for simple stories. Well the problem with that is that the ''page views functtion'' isn´t based on individual viewers, but on how many times that page has been accsesed no matter if it was the same person. So one person could click on a link a thousand times and thus give that option a thousand votes. It´s not a functional voting system. Users would need to leave their signature on which story they vote on (a public vote so to say). Sure that system could be cheated to by creating new accounts and using them to vote. But that requiers a lot more effort, and would get suspective seeing so many new members being created and all of them voting for the same guy.

Other than that it´s seems like a fun and intruiging idea. Alternatively you could do a "story of all time" vote with the first one.

Replying here again. First off, I'm flattered that you think my opinion means so much - even if I can't see how one would come to that conclusion. Now, onto what you were asking about. I think the division of "Remember" into chapters could work really well. It's a lot like I was thinking of doing for my next story, dividing it into chapters for easier access, and for people to jump back into where they were when they last were reading it.

Essentially they would be audiobooks of the stories where you would make your decision at the end of the video, leading you to the next part of the story. It's good to know that you enjoyed "Megan". I love getting feedback, and as for your question for the "What If?" situation, I could perhaps do that. It might take some time, however.

Right now I've got the first page of "The Diary Of Bethany Cross" in the works, and after that I might get some work done on [[What Lies Beneath|WLB]]. After WLB and "The Diary", I'm planning on a chapter-by-chapter story that would unite the characters of "Rescue", "Megan", "WLB", and "The Diary" (Dead characters will still appear. Not sure how to explain it yet, but it'll happen) and thrust them into the potential end of the world.

The idea of a "What If?" version is a bit interesting, though. I'm wondering if you mean if Megan didn't kill herself, kill Vanessa, or if Vanessa killed Megan (which happens in one of the pages)? It could be fun to play around with all three of those ideas, really. Believe it or not, I've still got at least six kills to work in eventually in a later update - the gun and power-tools kills - I added the ending in so I could consider it "finished" for now and potentially get it to be the featured story and get it some exposure. The first would depend mostly on where the story goes with the idea you started with, but it could work. Reviews would be pretty good, too. Hey, just saw the review, and thanks! Always awesome to get a well written review on something I wrote. As for the story only having one (true) ending, I understand completely. I actually have been toying with other endings (besides the one page where Vanessa kills Megan), including things like Vanessa killing Megan and surviving, Megan wimping out at the end and going home, Megan getting arrested, and stuff like that in my head. As you stated in the review, it's not finished yet, so there's time for me to add those in later. Oh, and I saw you said you only read one of the brutal kills. Which one? In a strange, morbid way I want to know which one it was so I can tell if I wrote it well.

Essentially they would be audiobooks of the stories where you would make your decision at the end of the video, leading you to the next part of the story. It's good to know that you enjoyed "Megan". I love getting feedback, and as for your question for the "What If?" situation, I could perhaps do that. It might take some time, however.

Right now I've got the first page of "The Diary Of Bethany Cross" in the works, and after that I might get some work done on [[What Lies Beneath|WLB]]. After WLB and "The Diary", I'm planning on a chapter-by-chapter story that would unite the characters of "Rescue", "Megan", "WLB", and "The Diary" (Dead characters will still appear. Not sure how to explain it yet, but it'll happen) and thrust them into the potential end of the world.

The idea of a "What If?" version is a bit interesting, though. I'm wondering if you mean if Megan didn't kill herself, kill Vanessa, or if Vanessa killed Megan (which happens in one of the pages)? It could be fun to play around with all three of those ideas, really. Believe it or not, I've still got at least six kills to work in eventually in a later update - the gun and power-tools kills - I added the ending in so I could consider it "finished" for now and potentially get it to be the featured story and get it some exposure. Hey, just saw the review, and thanks! Always awesome to get a well written review on something I wrote. As for the story only having one (true) ending, I understand completely. I actually have been toying with other endings (besides the one page where Vanessa kills Megan), including things like Vanessa killing Megan and surviving, Megan wimping out at the end and going home, Megan getting arrested, and stuff like that in my head. As you stated in the review, it's not finished yet, so there's time for me to add those in later. Oh, and I saw you said you only read one of the brutal kills. Which one? In a strange, morbid way I want to know which one it was so I can tell if I wrote it well.

The problem with William is I'm not certain what choices the player will have to make while he's in Michael's custody.

Here's a brief summary. Bear in mind that these events only occur if the reader goes down a certain path.

William uses his powers to kill Michael's friends (it's ironic that you would emphasize "accidentally," because he's mostly in control by this point in the story).

William and Michael have their first showdown in a warehouse. At first, William's powers give him the edge, but he soon realizes that Michael is too much for him to handle. Michael savagely beats him in retaliation for the deaths of his friends.

Vincent arrives at Karen's home to kill her. Rebecca also arrives to kill Vincent. The two beat each other senseless, until another figure appears, and then things really go to hell.

Oh, right, I wanted to ask for an opinion on something I thought about. Most pages don't place a letter or title before the page names. So, the only two courses that can be done,(without plowing through every story to start over) is to let certain pages overlap. [[Kill yourself]] has eleven categories. Tell me what you think, because eventually, if nothing is done, what with pages being added, page names will be so long we could let the option be clicking the stroy in itself, just to not allow overlaps.

For example, if someone else put R, for another story, the page would be edited and it may seem like a small thing but it would get very annoying if it happens repeatedly. However, if for pages like [[Kill yourself]], the story works well, it can be some sort of intersection. It'll probably only work on endings, but it gets annoying. Once I made a page [[Die]] and it was already taken and completely inappropiate. Since it is a very small title it does seem weird. Besides, it would be easier than going through large stories, pulling them out and repasting them. It would be fine for simple stories. However, a lot go into near 100 and there is a 200 pager(The Kitty in the Window) which would probably lose pages in the process. Oh, right and it might be slightly easier to make a category, like '''Public''' to place the... public stories.

Well the problem with that is that the ''page views functtion'' isn´t based on individual viewers, but on how many times that page has been accsesed no matter if it was the same person. So one person could click on a link a thousand times and thus give that option a thousand votes. It´s not a functional voting system. Users would need to leave their signature on which story they vote on (a public vote so to say). Sure that system could be cheated to by creating new accounts and using them to vote. But that requiers a lot more effort, and would get suspective seeing so many new members being created and all of them voting for the same guy.

Other than that it´s seems like a fun and intruiging idea. Alternatively you could do a "story of all time" vote with the first one.

Replying here again. First off, I'm flattered that you think my opinion means so much - even if I can't see how one would come to that conclusion. Now, onto what you were asking about. I think the division of "Remember" into chapters could work really well. It's a lot like I was thinking of doing for my next story, dividing it into chapters for easier access, and for people to jump back into where they were when they last were reading it.

The problem with William is I'm not certain what choices the player will have to make while he's in Michael's custody.

Here's a brief summary. Bear in mind that these events only occur if the reader goes down a certain path.

William uses his powers to kill Michael's friends (it's ironic that you would emphasize "accidentally," because he's mostly in control by this point in the story).

William and Michael have their first showdown in a warehouse. At first, William's powers give him the edge, but he soon realizes that Michael is too much for him to handle. Michael savagely beats him in retaliation for the deaths of his friends.

Vincent arrives at Karen's home to kill her. Rebecca also arrives to kill Vincent. The two beat each other senseless, until another figure appears, and then things really go to hell.

Oh, right, I wanted to ask for an opinion on something I thought about. Most pages don't place a letter or title before the page names. So, the only two courses that can be done,(without plowing through every story to start over) is to let certain pages overlap. [[Kill yourself]] has eleven categories. Tell me what you think, because eventually, if nothing is done, what with pages being added, page names will be so long we could let the option be clicking the stroy in itself, just to not allow overlaps.

For example, if someone else put R, for another story, the page would be edited and it may seem like a small thing but it would get very annoying if it happens repeatedly. Well the problem with that is that the ''page views functtion'' isn´t based on individual viewers, but on how many times that page has been accsesed no matter if it was the same person. So one person could click on a link a thousand times and thus give that option a thousand votes. It´s not a functional voting system. Users would need to leave their signature on which story they vote on (a public vote so to say). Sure that system could be cheated to by creating new accounts and using them to vote. But that requiers a lot more effort, and would get suspective seeing so many new members being created and all of them voting for the same guy.

Other than that it´s seems like a fun and intruiging idea. Alternatively you could do a "story of all time" vote with the first one.

Replying here again. First off, I'm flattered that you think my opinion means so much - even if I can't see how one would come to that conclusion. Now, onto what you were asking about. I think the division of "Remember" into chapters could work really well. It's a lot like I was thinking of doing for my next story, dividing it into chapters for easier access, and for people to jump back into where they were when they last were reading it.

It's good to know that you enjoyed "Megan". I love getting feedback, and as for your question for the "What If?" situation, I could perhaps do that. It might take some time, however.

Right now I've got the first page of "The Diary Of Bethany Cross" in the works, and after that I might get some work done on [[What Lies Beneath|WLB]]. After WLB and "The Diary", I'm planning on a chapter-by-chapter story that would unite the characters of "Rescue", "Megan", "WLB", and "The Diary" (Dead characters will still appear. Not sure how to explain it yet, but it'll happen) and thrust them into the potential end of the world.

The idea of a "What If?" version is a bit interesting, though. I'm wondering if you mean if Megan didn't kill herself, kill Vanessa, or if Vanessa killed Megan (which happens in one of the pages)? It could be fun to play around with all three of those ideas, really. Believe it or not, I've still got at least six kills to work in eventually in a later update - the gun and power-tools kills - I added the ending in so I could consider it "finished" for now and potentially get it to be the featured story and get it some exposure. The first would depend mostly on where the story goes with the idea you started with, but it could work. Reviews would be pretty good, too. Replying here again. First off, I'm flattered that you think my opinion means so much - even if I can't see how one would come to that conclusion. Now, onto what you were asking about. I think the division of "Remember" into chapters could work really well. It's a lot like I was thinking of doing for my next story, dividing it into chapters for easier access, and for people to jump back into where they were when they last were reading it.

I'll understand if you're opposed, considering it makes you have to do stuff (delete the old ones, I'm guessing), and I don't really mind if it stays like this but... it looks messy as it is, with the pages split. xD

i never did go into a different story and deliberately delete a different page, if it happened it was on accident and something that i did not mean to do or realize what was happening. i would assume that would be understood rather causing such anger towards me as i'm new here.

still don't see how it's even possible that i would have done something as you accuse me of doing when i only, and i repeat, only edited pages which i created for my story. if i did indeed delete somebody else's page as you claim i did than there is many other ways to handle it then calling me out in pure anger, acting as if i did it on purpose, and using caps as if you are yelling at me.

It's good to know that you enjoyed "Megan". I love getting feedback, and as for your question for the "What If?" situation, I could perhaps do that. It might take some time, however.

Right now I've got the first page of "The Diary Of Bethany Cross" in the works, and after that I might get some work done on [[What Lies Beneath|WLB]]. After WLB and "The Diary", I'm planning on a chapter-by-chapter story that would unite the characters of "Rescue", "Megan", "WLB", and "The Diary" (Dead characters will still appear. Not sure how to explain it yet, but it'll happen) and thrust them into the potential end of the world.

The idea of a "What If?" version is a bit interesting, though. I'm wondering if you mean if Megan didn't kill herself, kill Vanessa, or if Vanessa killed Megan (which happens in one of the pages)? It could be fun to play around with all three of those ideas, really. Believe it or not, I've still got at least six kills to work in eventually in a later update - the gun and power-tools kills - I added the ending in so I could consider it "finished" for now and potentially get it to be the featured story and get it some exposure. Apologies for getting back to you so late, but I think the first and third ideas could work out really well. The first would depend mostly on where the story goes with the idea you started with, but it could work. Reviews would be pretty good, too. Good reviews help motivate writers and constructive criticism helps them improve. The second idea reminds me a bit of Community, though. Which - don't get me wrong - is awesome on its own. Hey, just saw the review, and thanks! Always awesome to get a well written review on something I wrote. As for the story only having one (true) ending, I understand completely. I actually have been toying with other endings (besides the one page where Vanessa kills Megan), including things like Vanessa killing Megan and surviving, Megan wimping out at the end and going home, Megan getting arrested, and stuff like that in my head. As you stated in the review, it's not finished yet, so there's time for me to add those in later. Oh, and I saw you said you only read one of the brutal kills. Which one? In a strange, morbid way I want to know which one it was so I can tell if I wrote it well.

I appreciate being invited to join the review process, but it all depends on how much time I find to work on such a thing. The problem with William is I'm not certain what choices the player will have to make while he's in Michael's custody.

Here's a brief summary. Bear in mind that these events only occur if the reader goes down a certain path.

William uses his powers to kill Michael's friends (it's ironic that you would emphasize "accidentally," because he's mostly in control by this point in the story).

William and Michael have their first showdown in a warehouse. At first, William's powers give him the edge, but he soon realizes that Michael is too much for him to handle. Michael savagely beats him in retaliation for the deaths of his friends.

Vincent arrives at Karen's home to kill her. Rebecca also arrives to kill Vincent. The two beat each other senseless, until another figure appears, and then things really go to hell.

Oh, right, I wanted to ask for an opinion on something I thought about. Most pages don't place a letter or title before the page names. So, the only two courses that can be done,(without plowing through every story to start over) is to let certain pages overlap. [[Kill yourself]] has eleven categories. Tell me what you think, because eventually, if nothing is done, what with pages being added, page names will be so long we could let the option be clicking the stroy in itself, just to not allow overlaps.

For example, if someone else put R, for another story, the page would be edited and it may seem like a small thing but it would get very annoying if it happens repeatedly. However, if for pages like [[Kill yourself]], the story works well, it can be some sort of intersection. It'll probably only work on endings, but it gets annoying. Once I made a page [[Die]] and it was already taken and completely inappropiate. Since it is a very small title it does seem weird. Besides, it would be easier than going through large stories, pulling them out and repasting them. It would be fine for simple stories. However, a lot go into near 100 and there is a 200 pager(The Kitty in the Window) which would probably lose pages in the process. Oh, right and it might be slightly easier to make a category, like '''Public''' to place the... public stories.

Well the problem with that is that the ''page views functtion'' isn´t based on individual viewers, but on how many times that page has been accsesed no matter if it was the same person. So one person could click on a link a thousand times and thus give that option a thousand votes. It´s not a functional voting system. Users would need to leave their signature on which story they vote on (a public vote so to say). Sure that system could be cheated to by creating new accounts and using them to vote. But that requiers a lot more effort, and would get suspective seeing so many new members being created and all of them voting for the same guy.

Other than that it´s seems like a fun and intruiging idea. Alternatively you could do a "story of all time" vote with the first one.

Replying here again. First off, I'm flattered that you think my opinion means so much - even if I can't see how one would come to that conclusion. Now, onto what you were asking about. I think the division of "Remember" into chapters could work really well. It's a lot like I was thinking of doing for my next story, dividing it into chapters for easier access, and for people to jump back into where they were when they last were reading it.

I'm sure most of you here have noticed this already, but I'd like to just point out. The Main Page is ever growing in it's length. That's great news! That means more adventures, but it comes at a price. The overall size of the page. I thought I'd do a little experiment and see how long it would take me to scroll down from the top to the very bottom. It took me more than 10 seconds. That is a ridiculously long time. Only fine for social media sites such as Facebook.

What I'm suggesting is that we need to find a way to successfully organize the Main Page to which the size of it is significantly less, while not having it link off into other pages. Such as replacing the sections with say Collapsible Tables [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Collapsing], so then you can choose which sections you want to look at, perhaps even placing sub tables on top of that.

Ahh, true. I barely know coding myself, but new people constantly make stories, and sooner or later, mistakes will be made, and those beloved tables will be disfigured. Adenster, family-friendly is generally a relative term. While I dont know the particular stories you speak of, discouraging school or stealing a car CAN be used in a family setting IE. one character has a Huckleberry Finn-ish tendency to skip school and the car can be used as a life lesson piece. Terms like Family-Friendly vary greatly from person to person and are entirely dependent on perception. For example some people believe in spanking their children whilst others dont. One side would consider it "Family-Friendly" whilst the other group would not. I'm kind of a perfectionist and it just hurts my eyes to see the story page links not formatted properly. It's either because people are too lazy or just not well enough informed on how to create proper links. Most pages have something like this:

There is no real problem or rule against editing pages, especially grammar correction. If you want to fix stories then that’s alright. Hell, even adding new stuff to the story is fine in most cases.
The problem with this site is that there are some users who create crappy stories with five pages that have no real plot or proper grammar. People work on their story for a day then leave resulting in many poor stories with no real purpose. So if you want to fix stories then go for it.

Unfortunately, there are far too many ungrammatical writers out there for me to repair all the things they post. I am the only active sysop here, and I don't object to anyone trying fix grammar around the site. We were recently invaded by a Canadian school whose students wanted the thrill of posting on the web despite the fact that many of them had a poor grasp of English. Their teacher's help made many things worse, not better. The page-moving function had to be disabled due to malicious vandals. However, what you can do is copy the text in the mis-named page, blank that page, edit the page with the mis-named link, and paste the text onto a new page with the correctly spelled name. Then I'll delete the blanked page. I'm the only one who can do deletions. If you really want to begin a new story, i suggest planning it before you actually type it all out. It's bad to add to the number of all the carcasses you can see on the Main Page. Save those, or if you prefer, get the more severely rotting ones that we lumped in the Pit to decompose. Unfortunately, stories are hard to get rid of, so save them from non-authorship before it's too late. It also makes it easier, since you'd agree with the storyline from the beginning, whereas others end up left behind because there's a lock on the whole thing. For Example, everything might lead to a standstill after everything directs to a page. The rest of the plot is a mystery and starts rotting. Actually, you don't need my permission. Just make sure that you don't have many grammatical and spelling errors, and that the pages aren't just one or two sentences. Those are terrible, and with the load times of the site sometimes, you want something more than just that.

Despite my own story preferences, I agree. I always thought it odd (and not a little family-unfriendly) to give almost equal weight to kiddie stories as well as possibly very kinky adult stuff. First of all, I don't want to sound like a spammer or advertiser, but since I can code, I thought I'd make a resource for everyone who's interested.
 
 
I've noticed when making games on here, that it's difficult to keep track of all your pages, and it's still hard to make them even with a mind map. So I made a rather unconventional, very small piece of software using Game Maker. Despite its not too standard interface. It provides an easy and efficient way to organize your pages. You can type and paste your page content into it and then automatically generate the pages in the correct format for this site.

As I understood it, anyone could edit the featured story section, no one in particular was responsible for keeping it reguarly updated. That being said, 8 months is an alarmingly long time. If we´re looking for a story right now to put on there "Megan" (which is already nominated) could do. Although that one might be a bit to... bloody disturbing, to be put there. Another one might be Battle Royal, which has a lot of pages. (Wait, did I just recomend Battle Royal over something else beacuse it was so bloody disturbing? Scary thought!).

Overall though, personally I´d want to put a quality story on the featured page. And the simply fact is that there arn´t enough quality storys on this site to maintain a one or two months switch around in my opinion. Also, personally, I´d also not like to see adulth storys be put there, which decresses the story-pool significantly.

I'm sure most of you here have noticed this already, but I'd like to just point out. The Main Page is ever growing in it's length. That's great news! That means more adventures, but it comes at a price. The overall size of the page. I thought I'd do a little experiment and see how long it would take me to scroll down from the top to the very bottom. It took me more than 10 seconds. That is a ridiculously long time. Only fine for social media sites such as Facebook.

What I'm suggesting is that we need to find a way to successfully organize the Main Page to which the size of it is significantly less, while not having it link off into other pages. Such as replacing the sections with say Collapsible Tables [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Collapsing], so then you can choose which sections you want to look at, perhaps even placing sub tables on top of that.

Essentially, it would be an audiobook of the story where you click a link at the end of the video to make your choice (leading you to the next part of the story). While I dont know the particular stories you speak of, discouraging school or stealing a car CAN be used in a family setting IE. one character has a Huckleberry Finn-ish tendency to skip school and the car can be used as a life lesson piece. Terms like Family-Friendly vary greatly from person to person and are entirely dependent on perception. For example some people believe in spanking their children whilst others dont. One side would consider it "Family-Friendly" whilst the other group would not. There is no real problem or rule against editing pages, especially grammar correction. If you want to fix stories then that’s alright. Hell, even adding new stuff to the story is fine in most cases.
The problem with this site is that there are some users who create crappy stories with five pages that have no real plot or proper grammar. People work on their story for a day then leave resulting in many poor stories with no real purpose. So if you want to fix stories then go for it.

Unfortunately, there are far too many ungrammatical writers out there for me to repair all the things they post. I am the only active sysop here, and I don't object to anyone trying fix grammar around the site. The page-moving function had to be disabled due to malicious vandals. However, what you can do is copy the text in the mis-named page, blank that page, edit the page with the mis-named link, and paste the text onto a new page with the correctly spelled name. If you really want to begin a new story, i suggest planning it before you actually type it all out. It's bad to add to the number of all the carcasses you can see on the Main Page. Save those, or if you prefer, get the more severely rotting ones that we lumped in the Pit to decompose. Unfortunately, stories are hard to get rid of, so save them from non-authorship before it's too late. It also makes it easier, since you'd agree with the storyline from the beginning, whereas others end up left behind because there's a lock on the whole thing. For Example, everything might lead to a standstill after everything directs to a page. The rest of the plot is a mystery and starts rotting. Despite my own story preferences, I agree. I always thought it odd (and not a little family-unfriendly) to give almost equal weight to kiddie stories as well as possibly very kinky adult stuff. First of all, I don't want to sound like a spammer or advertiser, but since I can code, I thought I'd make a resource for everyone who's interested.
 
 
I've noticed when making games on here, that it's difficult to keep track of all your pages, and it's still hard to make them even with a mind map. So I made a rather unconventional, very small piece of software using Game Maker. Despite its not too standard interface. It provides an easy and efficient way to organize your pages. You can type and paste your page content into it and then automatically generate the pages in the correct format for this site.

As I understood it, anyone could edit the featured story section, no one in particular was responsible for keeping it reguarly updated. That being said, 8 months is an alarmingly long time. If we´re looking for a story right now to put on there "Megan" (which is already nominated) could do. Although that one might be a bit to... bloody disturbing, to be put there. Another one might be Battle Royal, which has a lot of pages. (Wait, did I just recomend Battle Royal over something else beacuse it was so bloody disturbing? Scary thought!).

Overall though, personally I´d want to put a quality story on the featured page. And the simply fact is that there arn´t enough quality storys on this site to maintain a one or two months switch around in my opinion. Also, personally, I´d also not like to see adulth storys be put there, which decresses the story-pool significantly.

I'm sure most of you here have noticed this already, but I'd like to just point out. The Main Page is ever growing in it's length. That's great news! That means more adventures, but it comes at a price. The overall size of the page. I thought I'd do a little experiment and see how long it would take me to scroll down from the top to the very bottom. It took me more than 10 seconds. That is a ridiculously long time. Only fine for social media sites such as Facebook.

What I'm suggesting is that we need to find a way to successfully organize the Main Page to which the size of it is significantly less, while not having it link off into other pages. Such as replacing the sections with say Collapsible Tables [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Collapsing], so then you can choose which sections you want to look at, perhaps even placing sub tables on top of that.

Ahh, true. I barely know coding myself, but new people constantly make stories, and sooner or later, mistakes will be made, and those beloved tables will be disfigured. It is possible though, and if someone were able just to implement this idea, it will do wonders for this site. I don't go on often, but when I do, I always notice how long the Main Page is.

I have been a fan of this site for a while. I am an experienced actor and had the idea of adapting some of these stories to youtube. Essentially, it would be an audiobook of the story where you click a link at the end of the video to make your choice (leading you to the next part of the story). I recently noticed that about 10 new stories were made, and each of them looked like they should be in the 10+ section. How is stealing a car family friendly? Or discouraging school? Seriously, If I see one more story like that being made, it's going straight to PG-13.

Adenster, family-friendly is generally a relative term. While I dont know the particular stories you speak of, discouraging school or stealing a car CAN be used in a family setting IE. one character has a Huckleberry Finn-ish tendency to skip school and the car can be used as a life lesson piece. Terms like Family-Friendly vary greatly from person to person and are entirely dependent on perception. For example some people believe in spanking their children whilst others dont. One side would consider it "Family-Friendly" whilst the other group would not. I'm kind of a perfectionist and it just hurts my eyes to see the story page links not formatted properly. It's either because people are too lazy or just not well enough informed on how to create proper links. Most pages have something like this:

Is there a way to get the Category page to display just the page names? There is no real problem or rule against editing pages, especially grammar correction. If you want to fix stories then that’s alright. Hell, even adding new stuff to the story is fine in most cases.
The problem with this site is that there are some users who create crappy stories with five pages that have no real plot or proper grammar. People work on their story for a day then leave resulting in many poor stories with no real purpose. So if you want to fix stories then go for it.

Unfortunately, there are far too many ungrammatical writers out there for me to repair all the things they post. I am the only active sysop here, and I don't object to anyone trying fix grammar around the site. We were recently invaded by a Canadian school whose students wanted the thrill of posting on the web despite the fact that many of them had a poor grasp of English. Their teacher's help made many things worse, not better. The page-moving function had to be disabled due to malicious vandals. However, what you can do is copy the text in the mis-named page, blank that page, edit the page with the mis-named link, and paste the text onto a new page with the correctly spelled name. Then I'll delete the blanked page. I'm the only one who can do deletions. I noticed my browser (Chrome) seems to hang on loading the info from TagNimbus, so I tried to visit the TagNimbus site. It seems to be down or dead, and a look at www.IsUp.me told me the whole site seemed to be down for others, too.

If it's down, any chance of getting in touch with the owner to restore it? Otherwise, if TagNimbus is finall- I mean unfortunately dead, can we just remove the thing anyways? It didn't seem to change anything and was abused to tag pages with irrelevant tags...

Heyo whoever you are! Best thing you should start on is probably continuing on stories that have been started, but after 10 pages, the author has quit. If you really want to begin a new story, i suggest planning it before you actually type it all out. In your plan you should have: the main storyline, the seperate endings, and of course the characters who are going to be in the story.

It's bad to add to the number of all the carcasses you can see on the Main Page. Save those, or if you prefer, get the more severely rotting ones that we lumped in the Pit to decompose. Unfortunately, stories are hard to get rid of, so save them from non-authorship before it's too late. It also makes it easier, since you'd agree with the storyline from the beginning, whereas others end up left behind because there's a lock on the whole thing. For Example, everything might lead to a standstill after everything directs to a page. The rest of the plot is a mystery and starts rotting. I'd just like to say thank you so much!!! Why? Well, a few years back i wrote a few tales ([[Girlngirl High]], [[All Alone]] and [[Teehee!]]). I thought, no way were these stories would ever become hits, all of them are less than 100 pages! And i never finished any of them. So i decided to quit the site for 2 years. Today, i decided to go on and look at my stories, see how they've turned out.

Actually, you don't need my permission. Just make sure that you don't have many grammatical and spelling errors, and that the pages aren't just one or two sentences. Those are terrible, and with the load times of the site sometimes, you want something more than just that.

Despite my own story preferences, I agree. I always thought it odd (and not a little family-unfriendly) to give almost equal weight to kiddie stories as well as possibly very kinky adult stuff. As long as you can always go directly to any given page (through a browser bookmark perhaps) I actually suggest adult stories are kept behind a disclaimer screen of some sort.

== A page making/organizing resource ==

First of all, I don't want to sound like a spammer or advertiser, but since I can code, I thought I'd make a resource for everyone who's interested.
 
 
I've noticed when making games on here, that it's difficult to keep track of all your pages, and it's still hard to make them even with a mind map. So I made a rather unconventional, very small piece of software using Game Maker. Despite its not too standard interface. It provides an easy and efficient way to organize your pages. You can type and paste your page content into it and then automatically generate the pages in the correct format for this site.

How can I communicate with other users of this site, so that we can conspire and work together. I am currently working on a story that is just to much for one person to handle, but I don't understand how I can talk with "helpers". I just don't get it!-- [[User: Cyclops|Cyclops]]

You can click on a user's name to view their profile page, then click on the "discussion" tab to see their talk page. If you post something on their talk page, they'll see an alert at the top of their screen. i think that there needs to be a few changes to this site. A chatroom. It would be very easy to find one online and embed it in a page. Also I believe there should be category pages where all the sci fi pages are in one place with links to it. Maybe on the mainpage, instead of links to very story, have links to the category listing. Finally I believe there should be something to let us rate pages (as in 4 out of 5 stars).

== Featured Story - A Dead Thing? ==

The idea was proposed by [[User: Occono|Occono]], last seen in 2009. I said then that I had no objections to such a feature, but no intention of participating in it. Anyone volunteering? --[[User:Platypus|Platypus]] 18:19, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

As I understood it, anyone could edit the featured story section, no one in particular was responsible for keeping it reguarly updated. That being said, 8 months is an alarmingly long time. If we´re looking for a story right now to put on there "Megan" (which is already nominated) could do. Although that one might be a bit to... bloody disturbing, to be put there. Another one might be Battle Royal, which has a lot of pages. (Wait, did I just recomend Battle Royal over something else beacuse it was so bloody disturbing? Scary thought!).

Overall though, personally I´d want to put a quality story on the featured page. And the simply fact is that there arn´t enough quality storys on this site to maintain a one or two months switch around in my opinion. Also, personally, I´d also not like to see adulth storys be put there, which decresses the story-pool significantly.

It may be my story, but from 2012 onwards, I was surprised that [[Remember]] was still featured. Congratulations to TheElderOnes. It's been a long time coming, and now you've finally gotten the story featured. Nice.
