Man, these guys don't fuck around. The Alphenian Empire is a theocracy in the same sense that a tidal wave is water. Every citizen is expected to spend every waking second thanking their god emperor for another moment of life under his totalitarian dictatorship. All dissent is crushed, quite literally, within moments of arising. The empire formed from the ashes of the ancient United Nations Coalition, and in the last four hundred years the Alphenians seem to have reached their limit. Star systems are slipping through their fingers, albeit slowly, as the Reapers and corporations begin to take back the stars.
Still, in this corner of the universe, the Alphenian Empire is still the power, and it is still righteous fury embodied. You gulp before answering, reminding yourself to keep a low profile.
