From Create Your Own Story

Revision as of 11:14, 18 May 2016 by Platypus (Talk | contribs)

Stop posting pages that don't contain any story! A single option is not a page! Have you read any pages here? Have you noticed that they contain some WRITING? Also, make sure to include the title of the story as a category on any page you post. --Platypus 21:58, 27 December 2015 (UTC)

Two options, without any story content, is still not acceptable. Deleted.

When you categorize a page, capitalization and punctuation matter. Please make sure you have the correct category when you post a page. --Platypus 23:31, 29 December 2015 (UTC)

You DO NOT create a new story by writing over an existing one. You DO NOT add your story to an index page by writing over the entry for some other story. Your overwrite of Eat Stuff has been reverted. Please add your story to the proper index page. Hint: Don't add it to a page in the Pit of Abandoned Stories! Try reading the tutorial if you're having difficulty understanding how the site works, or ask me a question on my talk page. --Platypus 20:46, 17 May 2016 (UTC)

Platypus mentioned how to: by reading the Tutorial and following that guide... --Dirty Me 07:11, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

A little bit of personalized help. I don't know if this is necessarily how it's supposed to be done, but the way I added my story to the list was to go to the appropriate section, in my case it was the adult stories section.

From there, find the alphabetical section for your story's title and hit edit. Add it in where it fits in, again alphabetically, using the same format of the stories above and below yours and making sure the spacers are in order. Title (as a link), then page number (I started with wip until I had a few pages down), then like whether it's private or public, whether other people can edit or add, and maybe a tiny description if necessary.

The link to the starter page will be red, of course, so follow it and make your intro page with some kind of introduction to your story or the concept or however you go about it, some options, and the category link.

Hope this helps. -- In The Worst Ways 08:08, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

Please make sure to include the title of the story as a category on each page you post. If you don't know how to add categories, please review the Tutorial, especially Basic page format.

Okay, first, did you really read the Tutorial?

You seem to be missing many things...

Like, you again replaced half the family friendly index with something, and added your story randomly. I reverted your change, and then added your story in properly, but that is vandalism and is a good way to get banned. Seriously, Intheworstways above gave you a hint. If you need to delete other people's stuff, you did something wrong. You should not be deleting things from the index, only adding in two lines:

|-

|[[Your Story||Page count||notes

Next, for sentences to be spaced, hit enter twice so you have an empty line between. You do not need to enter <br> after every sentence.

Also, your categories. This is one reason I know you didn't read the Tutorial. Please click the word Tutorial and read it before doing anything else. Why do I know? First, you add a category by adding [[Category:Johnny alternative]], not by adding CATEGORY:JOHNNY ALTERNATIVE TEST PAGE...make sure your category matches the story...

Next, you didn't even try to add a category to any other pages. You need to add it on Every single page in a story. Not just the first. Seriously, read the Tutorial, ask Intheworstways, me, or Platypus for help, and then wait, WAIT, for the answer, before you continue to make a mess that others need to fix...

Otherwise, I can guarantee you Platypus will just ban you so he does not need to spend additional time fixing things that you did not do because you refused to read the Tutorial, ask for help, and wait until someone responds... --Dirty Me 10:17, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

What they said. Pay attention to what you're doing. If you make a mistake, use the undo button or use the page history to fix it. Don't make messes for other people to fix. --Platypus 11:14, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
