You walk right into the house next door, because that's the kind of guy you are. A woman sees you and comes over. You wonder for a moment whether she's going to freak out at you for entering her house like that, but she seems fine with it.
Woman: Oh, hello. And you are?
You tell her your name and she pauses for a minute. Then she speaks up again.
Woman: Oh, you're Brendan, our new next-door neighbor! Hi! We have a daughter about the same age as you. Our daughter was excited about making a new friend. Our daughter is upstairs, I think.
Then she goes and sits down. Your first impression is that the woman is somewhat retarded. Then you think she's pretty awesome, because after all, she told you to go see her daughter in her bedroom. You definitely like that idea.
So, what are you going to do?
