You're researching the newest advances in scientific technology on your school-issued laptop while the teacher babbles on about things you've already learned on your own. High school seems like such an unnecessary bother to you. For you, this place is just a glorified daycare that the state requires you to attend and that you have no future without. You do, however, notice the loud scream that seemed to come from the hallway.
The teacher stops what she's doing and immediately runs to the door. She swings the door open and hesitates before stepping out to see what had happened. Suddenly, something jumps out and sinks its teeth into the woman's neck. It looks like a man, but it seems horribly rotted like a corpse. It's about to start ravaging the woman, but someone in the room lets out a loud scream, catching its attention. As you are the closest to the door, the creature fixates its attention to you.
You can reach the door, but you don't know how well it may hold. On the other hand, there's a roof to a nearby building close to the window, but it will require a good jump. You could probably make it, but you don't know about some of the others.
