You search for a while. You find a blueberry bush, nothing else. You pick a blueberry and examine it.
"I wouldn't eat that just yet if I were you, mister." says a voice right behind you. You whirl around. A bald man with a graying beard is leaning against a tree, watching you. "It might be poisoned. Anything, really, can happen on this island. In fact, something magical happens every forty-five seconds to a couple days. Useful, sometimes, but obviously also dangerous."
"Who are you?" you ask cautiously. "I?" he responds. "My name is something you don't want to hear. Now, hand me a blueberry, I can tell if-" he freezes mid-sentence. Then he sways and groans. After that he closes his eyes, and says feebly, "Forgive me..." as he wobbles dangerously. At last he openes his eyes, but there is an oddly blank look about them. He rights himself and grins at no one, then starts muttering. You can tell he doesn't see you. He appears mad. You hear parts of what he is murmering. "'...And he wen' ter talk 'bout somefink or another, I told 'im no, he won' list'n, the great fool', that's what he said, miss..." now talking to the tree.
