You spread your arms.
"I'm really sorry, but I've totally forgotten your name. I feel terrible about that."
Her stance softens slightly. "Well you should."
"I'm awful with names," you smile weakly. "Please don't take it personally. We had lots of fun last night, and that's what counts, right?"
"I suppose..." she says, biting her lower lip.
"Sometimes I even forget my own name," you laugh. There's truth in that, too. You have no idea who the fuck you are.
She giggles. "I know what that's like." She seems to be coming around.
