Using every ounce of energy you possess, you sprint towards the unaware child. You reach down and with one arm scoop the child up. Your other arm wraps around her to secure your grip.
The car is bearing down fast. You hear the squeal of brakes as the driver suddenly realizes what is happening. Time seems to slow down as you look to your left at the car. You have a split-second to make a decision.
