Trying to be as inconspicuous as possible, you slide your foot over the small gem and pull it under your table. Then you reach down and slip it into your pocket.
You then hear an angry voice up above, "Where is it?! Where did it go?!"
You feel a sense of great danger, and you suspect you should get out of there as soon as possible. However, you're also worried that you might attract attention to yourself if you stand up and leave.
