You manage to pull the glass barrier of the window up. You smell the air, deeply. You cough, for the air smells of sout and ash. Gray clouds fill they sky. You hear the child's voice again.
"YOU WILL PERISH IF YOU JUMP!"
Obviously, you weren't really going to jump. You were simply going to scale down the building. You put one foot out and set it on a loose brick outside the building, followed by your other foot. You work your way down three floors before you hear something. Something bad. You hear the sound of fire, burning. You look around you and see no fire. You take a sniff and smell the fire all to clearly. Suddenly, you feel a burning sensation and look at your hand. It was burning hot and once you realized it, it hurt ten times worse. You shook you hand to get the fire off, but it only spread the fire to your other hand. You shook both your hands around, trying to get the flames off. Sadly, this means you had let go of the building, sending you falling to your death. Just before you die, you hear the child's voice whisper, mockingly.
"You never had a chance..."
