Family Movies doesn't really follow the rules

I know Family Movies has just been sitting there, unaltered and undeleted (for 3 years!) despite its blatant violation of rule 1. But that doesn't mean it's alright for you to add new pages to it. You're still breaking the rule, if you catch my drift. I don't really know if that means anything necessarily. But for the sake of better safe than sorry, you should probably stop adding pages to Family Movies. --Pickles (Talk) 12:44, 8 August 2020 (UTC)

I see what you're saying, and to be honest, I wouldn't mind being banned. I'm not exactly proud of the stuff I write here, but if I can offer you some friendly advice, you need to either do something or don't. If someone were to decide to prosecute you for obscene material, they're not gonna care that you issued warnings against adding new content. There are already many stories on this site that feature underaged persons, sexual assault, incest, murder, and sometimes all of the above at once. And they've all gone unaltered and undeleted. So either you permit that content or you're gonna have to go through and remove it all.

I have no ill judgement for your writing, its quality or its content. Underage sex (or sexual assault, or incest, or murder) in writing does not bother me personally. I left a message under the assumption that you weren't aware of the rule against it.
And it's not up to me whether content is 'allowed,' that's up to the only two people on this site with any authority, Platypus and RobKohr. I'm not very invested in whether or not you get banned; what I'm really afraid of is RobKohr coming back to a site full of underage sex stories and deciding to nuke it (although he's probably pretty close to nuking EditThis as a whole anyway).
You're totally right that RobKohr has done a horrible job enforcing this rule (he's hardly even around nowadays) and somehow expects a single sysop (poor Platypus) to scrub the whole site. And you're right that if the United States Department of Justice Criminal Division (a mouthful and a half, but they're currently responsible for obscenity cases) wanted to have RobKohr arrested on the grounds of some content hosted on the site, Rob would not be able to defend himself by saying he made some 'rule' that he never felt like enforcing. Now whether they'd have a solid case against him is another thing, as contemporary case law for 'written obscenity' offences is not very well developed, but you're right on that point: RobKohr has not done near enough to enforce rule 1.
I think its good to keep in mind though that you are also responsible for everything you post here online, arguably more so than RobKohr. Your country may be more or less lax than the United States regarding written 'obscene' material, but the more I've looked into it myself, the more I've realized how much influence conservative religion still has on legislation. You'd be surprised by all of the lewd things that you're technically not allowed to create and distribute on the internet because of (in my opinion) outdated laws. Arrests are not common (especially considering how often obscenity laws are broken), but the laws to prosecute haven't been annulled.
I don't love these restrictions any more than you do. If you'd like to continue writing underage sex stories, and you haven't gone there already, stories.allthefallen.moe has the wiki format and (so far as I know) no limits on content. You could even move Family Movies over there if you'd like.
