*No problem. I checked out your User Page. You don't need to put your signature on there. It's only really needed on Talk Pages (like this one), where multiple people may be having a discussion (as we are.) You're really the only one who should be editing your own User Page, so it's assumed that you wrote it. I just wanted to clear that up, in case there was some confusion. Re: Alien Adventure I read it and I have some negative and some positive comments. I'm a Christian, and the story seems to focus on sexual organs and sex too much for me. That said, it is well written and has some good creative ideas (I especially liked the laser gun concept). I don't feel comfortable writing that kind of 'adult' stuff though, sorry. One question - is it meant to be serious, or tongue in cheek? It seems to start off fairly serious.

*Well, I did say it was in the Adult section. I intended it to be serious, but I haven't looked at it for a while, so I'm not sure what direction others may have taken it in. Fantastical is one thing, but sometimes people here add story brnaches that jump into the realm of ridiculous (read: worthy of ridicule) because they are, as noted earlier, mentally deficient children.
Sometimes I feel like I can really expand a chunk of someone else's story, but in the case of AiS, I just enjoy watching the story unfold, (with limited audience participation.) Thanks for fixing those links. I was scratching my head, but now having seen what you've done I realise that it doesn't like italics in the page name.Haruz 21:36, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

By the way, do you think Nebulous is a good name for the distressed ship? I should have introduced a name earlier so I don't have to keep saying 'the drifting ship'.

*Well, Nebulous is derfived from the Latin: nebula (“little cloud", "mist”). The ship is esentially cloud-like in the fact that it is drifting, and it is obscured, as clouds will do, by distance. So I would say it is etymologically signifigant, regardless of whether it really is a distressed ship, or if it's the setup to an ambush. --Cannon 17:41, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I'm Haruz, I joined on 4/1/2011 and I hope to make a new story soon.

  • This information goes on your User Page, not your Talk Page. Your Talk Page is where other members can leave notices for you. Also, on Talk Pages, you are supposed to end your messages with ~~~~ which automatically turns into your signature,(or you can just click the signature button up top). You'll get to see my signature at the end of this message! Also: Welcome and have fun! Cannon 22:25, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the pointers - I have now created my user page. Haruz 20:23, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

  • No problem. OK, I get it. I have just created the start page of my story, Adventures in Space (PG 13 section) Haruz 21:25, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

  • It's looking interesting (and well-written!) so far. If you are interested, I invite you to add to a story I started, called Alien Adventure. (Adult section) I haven't worked on it for a while, but I wanted there to be an Adult story focused on adventures in outer space, which I feel are under-represented. If you want to focus on your own story for now, or if you are opposed to working on an Adult story, I understand. But, as one of the only other people here who understands grammar, formatting and sci-fi, I would be honored if you did. Cannon 22:28, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

  • There's usually a whole lot of edits from one or two people each day. Platypus, (glory and cheese be upon him) goes through them because he basically runs this place. I go through them because I enjoy seeing what people are working on. Sometimes I even clean up the formatting of stories that I feel have potential. And the reason you find me so friendly is because you are a good writer who understands basic formatting, floating in a sea of mentally deficient children. There are a few other good writers here, but I don't often find myself interested in their stories.
Oh, and personally, I'm waiting to see what happens when you Promote Lucinha Nern. If Khapp lacks initiatve, he's not the man to pilot one of my ships! I need a captain who can make snap decisions, save the refugees and slingshot around a black hole, all while disarming the sleeper agent, trying to keep the warp drive from overheating, and shooting out of the star system before a galactic bomb explodes. Can you make that happen? --Cannon 23:38, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

  • Well, I did say it was in the Adult section.
Sometimes I feel like I can really expand a chunk of someone else's story, but in the case of AiS, I just enjoy watching the story unfold, (with limited audience participation.) I have the feeling that, so long as you keep creative control of the story, it will probably become a Featured Story once it goes past 25 pages. --Cannon 22:45, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
