You grab the katana. You can't recall where or when you picked up a katana, but on a night like this, it's nice to have a sword in your hand.
You take the katana and senselessly beat the door with it until the door is no more. You exit the room and enter the hallway to find that all other paths are blocked by walls of utter darkness except for one... to your sister's bedroom. There is also a small hall pantry.
