"Get down here," she yells,

Voice shrill as the church bells.

You toss in your bed,

feeling pain in the head,

but sensing your food's great smells.


But your work was not done,

and school you must shun.

Besides, you have no energy,

And sleep isn't free.

You really don't want to run.

Stay and miss the fun, of playing in the sun, but avoiding the disgrace, as your homework is gone without a trace, and by a cane you may be stunned.

Head to school, play by the pool, bear the weight, of your own mistake, and try not to look a fool.
