You head out to the beach. It's beautiful. The sand is white and fine. The water is crystal clear and blue. You lay out your towels, sit down, and look around. There is a teenage boy several hundred feet away who is pretending not to stare. There is an older couple even farther away who haven't seemed to notice you. And, there is a young family near the older couple. Other than that the beach is empty. You guess it's late enough that everyone else has gone to eat dinner.
