In a matter of moments I had closed in on the source.

Before me, a man, who appeared to be in the prime of his years, clashed with another man clad in a strange dark armor, his axe swing blocked by the armored man's sword. The man was clad in a leather jerkin, and had short black hair, with a trimmed full beard and a sun-tanned skin. He dodged as another man, also wearing the strange dark armor, which I know noticed bore an insignia of a heavily scarred hand, clutching a staring eye, swung with his sword, narrowly missing the bearded man's head. Another man, this one wearing dark robes also bearing the insignia, stood off to the side of the fray, his body swaying as he chanted arcane words.

The bearded man was clearly a veteran warrior, as he managed to fend back his two combatants. With a powerful blow of his axe he knocked one of the men back, and brought his axe up in time to block the other man's swing. But he won't win, I thought, he's outmatched here. Either one of the swordmen will cut him down or the mage will curse him with a spell.

One of the swordsmen, the one the bearded man had just knocked back, glanced up, his eyes catching my form.

"Outsider! He cannot be allowed to live either!"

Well, that simplifies things, but who to kill first?
