To be honest, I had an idea where I'd try to somehow create a big universe connecting all of the abandoned stories people left out, making it as if the people who exist in the stories all interact in one huge crossover. So when you say "take old pages, and ... redo them," does that mean simply recycling the content for your own story, or editing an existing story to fix it?--[[User:Completionist|Completionist]] 04:55, 14 April 2014 (UTC)

lol, just a warning, if you don't leave it on my talk page, I won't see the "new message" thing. Normally it is better to leave your feedback on the other's discussion tab, which is why I try to always leave my signature in there. Now, to answer your question, there isn't a problem doing some minor edits to old stories. However, sometimes someone takes an existing page and completely alters it, turning it into something very different than it once was. That is where it hits the level of vandalism. For example, someone created a star wars thing that has certain characters, then someone came along and wrote something completely different, changing the characters to different characters, and changing the entire plotline. You can see how that can cause story conflicts and is not something accepted. Changing there into their or they're isn't an issue, and adding in a new option to create your own path also isn't a problem.

As for your idea, I have thought of something similar with the pit of abandoned stories stories. Taking them, trying to match things up, and reflow them a bit so the content isn't lost, but it is bundled into one comprehensive story. I am not sure how to do it, but my thought was basically to have the original story category (Whatever the category is as it exists now), add a new, second category called "The Abandoned Story" or whatever, and then link them together. I haven't thought too much about it since I am not ready to work on it yet. Mostly, the pit stories are fair game for almost anything, since they are on average very few pages and has not been worked on in forever. However, I am just giving advice based on how I look at it. The actual admin is Platypus, so you may need to explain to him your end goal and how you will do it, then see if he is okay with it. --[[User:DirtyMeStoryTime|Dirty Me]] 05:10, 14 April 2014 (UTC)

The major story I've contributed to so far was Girlngirl High. I've finished/ cleaned up A LOT of the red links and created a few given endings to it. Of course, in CYOA fashion, I've left a few choices open to those who still want to branch the story out (see the first page discussion for details). I want to try making a small sequel/ create a mini-trilogy out of the original story, but as of now I'm still waiting for a "go ahead" from the original author.

The user who originally created it, Unkowhero23, has not been active since September 7, 2012. I don't think there is much issue doing whatever you want. Normally, the only time people get upset is when people take old pages, and start to try to redo them. New pages on old stories is a good thing, and spinoffs, well, you don't even need to ask. I understand you might want to just as a nicety, but it is not a requirement. --Dirty Me 02:17, 14 April 2014 (UTC)

Oh okay, thanks for the heads up. Although I've noticed that he (or she - but I assume everyone online is a guy, anyway) occasionally visits his old stories to check for views, etc. Either way, thank you for telling me that. A quick question on your statement, though, regarding: only time people get upset is when people take old pages, and start to try to redo them To be honest, I had an idea where I'd try to somehow create a big universe connecting all of the abandoned stories people left out, making it as if the people who exist in the stories all interact in one huge crossover.
