Take my chances in the woods.

From Create Your Own Story

Slowly, you take a deep breath before heading out for your mile hike. This is the first time you've been outside to do any type of exercise since you had to do physical testing last year in high school. Its a strenuous climb, and less than twenty minutes in, you feel exhausted and that you want to lay down, but you can't. You have a lot of ground to cover and you have to be careful.

No birds chirp in the trees and once in a while you see flashes of sky and clouds and sun. Its dark and pretty cool in the forests, making the hike easier but also more difficult to navigate. Once in awhile you trip over tree roots and yourself, but you manage to keep going straight.

When you were younger, you used to explore the area but it seems so different from then. The trees used to be imposing giants, but now they were smaller, but the darkness held the same possibilities.

Finally, the tree line began to thin out and its here that you see the the suburban neighborhood. It extends out toward the Francis Shopping Center which has an entrance to the freeway nearby. The neighborhood has about twenty-five homes, one of which is right in front of you. The lights in the house are on and music is leaking out from the doors.

You are tired and exhausted, so you go up to the door and knock loudly. Hopefully it will be a nice person who will be able to offer shelter and supplies.

The door opens and you are not prepared for who you see. Its Jared Ballard, your crush. He towers over you at a height of 6'2" with light brown hair that comes and hangs just above his eyes in messy clumps of hair. He has deep set dark brown eyes framed by thick lashes that cast shadows over full cheeks and a square jaw. His full lips turned into a confused frown, "What are you doing here?"

You stare up at him unsure of what to say, who would have thought he was here! What do you do?
