Wait for the guard to come

With the sound of the door to your cell opening, you know the auction is over. You look up at the giant wolf guard, holding a collar and leash, and he says, "Come, slave, your master awaits."
You slowly get to your feet and walk up to him, on the surface appearing as obedient as ever. That is until you clobber the guard over the head with your food tray, effectively knocking him out. You know you don't have much time before he awakens, and your next course of action is far more difficult to decide. Where do you go?
The city is entirely controlled by wolves, but you've heard of some human sympathizers among them. The hard part about that is you don't know where any of them are, being cooped up in a cell for most of your life has made you incredibly ignorant of the outside world, aside from what you've read in books.
The other option would be to head for the forest, beyond the city boarders, but who knows who or what dwells within. You've heard murmurs among many of the other slaves that it's paradise for humans, free from all wolves, while others say the notion of paradise is a trap for escaping slaves.
