You see people taking their kids through a door in the ballroom. As you approach the door, you notice a plaque on the side that reads “Lounge”. This must be it.

The lounge is a large room with green carpet and windows on the right overlooking the back yard. There is a stage set up at the far left part of the room. Kids are crowded up in front of the stage with the adults lined up in the back. You join the adults and listen for a Russian accent among the crowd. You don’t notice anything that stands out to you. Looking around, you spot someone staring at you briefly, and then turning away.

A man leans over to you and asks, “Which one’s yours?”

“Excuse me?” you ask.

“Child. Which one’s you child?”

You heart beings to race as you fumble for words to say. “He’s…he’s that one.” You point to an insecure looking kid sitting alone away from the group.

The man chuckles a bit to himself and says, “I can tell you two are related.”

A beautiful woman walks up on stage. “It is now my pleasure,” she announces to the group, “to introduce tonight’s entertainment, Maxim the Magician.”

The people in the room start clapping as a man dressed in red and black and wearing a ridiculous red mask walks up onto the stage. He thanks the crowd and says, “Are you kids ready for some wonders and mysticism tonight?” he asks the kids. You notice that he speaks with a very thick Russian accent. Could this man be the Vladimir that you are looking for?

The show begins and the Russian magician performs his magic tricks, being almost exclusively card tricks. He performs with plenty of flair and talks a lot between tricks. It’s almost as if he was trying to make is personality match his mask. About thirty long minutes into the performance, the magician announces a brief intermission.
