You unlock the front door and slip out into the hallway. Shutting the door quietly behind you, you can see next to nothing, save for the faint moonlight coming in through a window at the other end of the hall. You press your hands against the wall to slide along until you can get to the next doorway, then feel the alcove as you come to the entryway to the next apartment. You consider it: should you open the door, or knock.
