You arrive at Pestless Spirits HQ in your short skirt and cleavage-revealing top. Jason waves when you enter, but you're distracted by his chaotic office. Posters of household pests line the walls, along with photographs of cockroach infested houses from the 80s. On a shelf you see dozens of life-size rat and mouse statues, along with what look like Pestless Spirits informational pamphlets. Jason's desk is cluttered with cockroach paperweights, chewed-on pens, and a book about insects.
You look up at Jason and greet him with a polite wave.
"Hello," he says, and gestures to the open seat across from his desk. You sit down and the young man continues. "Welcome to Pestless Spirits! I'm glad you're here. We've been a little short handed since our last technician, Dan, retired."
"I'm more than ready to fill his shoes," you say smiling, "but I haven't worked in pest control before..."
A phone rings in the other room and Jason stands up from his seat. He steps toward the hallway, but quickly turns back toward you, pulling something out of his pocket.
Jason hands you a pamphlet. "This has some of the basics. I've got other ones lying around the room too, feel free to help yourself. I might be on the phone a while."
You flip the pamphlet over while Jason heads down the hall toward the sound of the ringing. The top of the page in bold letters reads "Cockroaches: basics of extermination."
You figure you ought to learn more about this job you've picked up, but aren't thrilled to do any reading.
