You marhc up the first flight of stairs onto a platform overlooking the room. There, a hallway leads around a corner, behind which there is a clamor.

Old Man Walkowicz, whose activites are normally limited to sleeping and threatening younger townspeople who trespass upon his lawn, dashes around the corner and regards you momentarily before glancing about and finding a chair, which he grabs. He frantically orders you to, "Come on!" before disappearing around the corner again.
