After a few minutes of mental debate you write HOMICIDE on the line and close the file. Looking at the clock you see it reads 3:00 am. Yawning you stretch and head for the comfort of your bed.

''''Monday'

The alarm clock goes off at six am. Rock Music blasts from it's speakers ruining your dream of swimming in a pool of money. Rubbing Sleep from your eyes you sit up, a quick smack shuts the guitar solo up and you grab clothes from your dresser. Taking them into the bathroom you fidget with the faucet heads for the shower and get the water to the perfect tempature. The shower doesn't last as long as you want it to but you get out feeling refreshed and ready for your first of of Detective work. Drying off you put on the cheap suit you saved up for and leave the apartment.

In an hour you make it to the police precinct. "morning" the desk sargeant says with a wave, "good morning" you reply walking past him. In order to get to Homicide you have to punch in a seven digit code and ride the elevator to the third floor. It takes only minutes for you to get there. Before you is a room cluttered with desks, instead of the movie image of disorganized chaos all you see are hard working cops typing away at their computers. In the far back you see a door that reads Leiutenant Holmes, your boss. Striding past your fellow officers you knock on the door and wait for Holmes to say "ENTER!". Behind an ugly green gray desk Holmes sits smoking a cigar. He is a scrawny man of forty nine, with blue eyes and salt and pepper hair. "yeah what is it?" Holmes asks glancing at you like someone just broke wind. "I'm the new Detective" you reply stand stiff as if you were back at the academy. "well I guess we'll see what your made of soon enough, go down to the armory and pick up a firearm, don't forget the ammunition rookie"...."when your done check in with Detective Joe Wilson, he's the mountain sized bastard with a desk by the janitor's closet".
